Bobby Green and Arman Tsarukyan, who are fighting in the co-main and main event of UFC Austin respectively, have been embroiled in an intense feud. News broke the previous day of Green claiming to punch one of Tsarukyan‘s teammates.

Tsarukyan released a video through his YouTube channel detailing what transpired initially. This was followed by another video from Green explaining what occurred after the initial meeting. Initially, it was presumed that Tsarukyan was not part of the altercation. However, that’s not the case.

Bobby Green was scheduled to face Dan Hooker in a five-round co-main event at UFC Austin. However, Hooker aggravated the broken hand injury he suffered at UFC 290 against Jalin ‘The Tarantula’ Turner. Incidentally, it was Turner who replaced Hooker after ‘The Hangman’ had to withdraw from his bout with Green. On the other hand, Arman is scheduled to headline the UFC Austin with fourth-ranked UFC lightweight contender, Beneil Dariush.

Recent footage has emerged of the altercation between Bobby and Tsarukyan’s teammates. In the video, Green and his team confronted Tsarukyan’s team members, who were seen running away from the scene. The incident occurred in the lobby of the fighters’ hotel, and the video has been widely circulated on social media.

Green is considered one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC. He is fresh off a 30-second knockout victory over then-10th-ranked Grant Dawson. Before that, he submitted Tony Ferguson at UFC 291. Tsarukyan is coming of a 3rd round TKO over Joaquim Silva after losing to Mateusz Gamrot in a very close fight.

With the amount of attention they are getting now, a win in their respective bouts can set the stage for a fight between themselves in 2024. Green, despite being 37 years old, is now a surging contender in the division. Tsarukyan is often described as one of the best up-and-coming fighters in the division, poised to become a champion in the future.

Explaining the Bobby Green-Arman Tsarukyan beef

The feud between Bobby Green and Arman Tsarukyan originated from a recent interview where Green referred to Tsarukyan as boring despite acknowledging his skill as a fighter. Tsarukyan took offense to Green’s comments, leading to a confrontation between them. In the encounter, Green pushed Tsarukyan slightly, prompting an angry response from Tsarukyan who shoved Green.

The video of this incident was uploaded on Tsarukyan’s official YouTube channel. In retaliation, Green confronted Tsarukyan’s crew with his own team. Notably, the UFC has not provided clarification on the incident, and Green’s management released a statement online stating that “King” was acting in self-defense.

Green had earlier called the style of fighting of Islam Makhachev boring. Moreover, he even accused Makhachev and other Russian fighters of PED use. However, Makhachev brushed off the statement as that of a bitter loser.
