Watch: Josh Jacobs gets Packers supporters concerned after dirt bike accident

Josh Jacobs is gearing up for his sixth season in the NFL, having previously spent five successful years with the Las Vegas Raiders. Nevertheless, the star running back recently bid farewell to the Raiders after striking a deal with the Green Bay Packers during the 2024 NFL free agency window.

While still waiting for the commencement of his journey with the Packers, Jacobs recently made the headlines due to an off-field incident.

Video: Josh Jacobs flips over dirt bike

Josh Jacobs is now in the headlines this offseason, but not for his moves on the football field. Recently, he was spotted in a live video with streamer B Lou, where he decided to try his hand at riding a dirt bike. Nevertheless, luck was not with him as the dirt bike flipped over, sending Jacob tumbling.

In the video, the Packers’ recently added running back can be seen riding an ATV while towing B Lou on a dirt bike behind him. Nevertheless, their joyride didn’t last long, as B Lou’s dirt bike flipped over just a few feet into their journey.

The incident happened during a live feed on B Lou’s social media platform, catching the unexpected moment when Jacobs lost control of the dirt bike. Wearing his helmet improperly and with the bike strapped to an ATV, Jacobs struggled to keep his balance before being flung over the ATV’s right side.

Fortunately, he landed on the grassy surface beside the road, avoiding any serious injuries. Amid the scare, he appeared to shake off the fall as B Lou checked on his well-being.

While it’s unclear if he sustained any injuries from the fall, the incident certainly caught the attention of the internet, quickly going viral. Nonetheless, it will remain a reminder to always prioritize safety, especially when trying out new activities during the offseason.

Josh Jacobs’ Packers contract in detail

The Packers secured star running back Josh Jacobs with a lucrative four-year, $48 million contract, which includes a hefty $12.5 million signing bonus in the offseason, per SI.com.

In the first year, he will earn a base salary of $1.2 million, resulting in a Year 1 cap charge of approximately $5.31 million due to the signing-bonus proration. He is set to receive a base salary of $1.17 million in 2025, along with a $5.93 million roster bonus, leading to a cap charge of $11.325 million. In 2026, his base salary will increase to $10.2 million, with a corresponding cap charge of $14.625 million.

Finally, in 2027, Jacobs’ base salary jumps to $12.2 million, with the cap charge remaining at $14.625 million. This significant move by the Packers comes after Jacobs failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension with his former team.

Nevertheless, the excitement over Jacobs’ arrival was tempered by the Packers’ decision to release Aaron Jones shortly after signing Jacobs. The Packers opted to part ways with the running back, saving $5.22 million in the process, despite previous reports suggesting the Packers’ move to talk with Jones’ agent.

It will remain to be seen how well Jacobs can replace Jones in the upcoming seasons.
