Lando Norris has been arguably the lead driver for McLaren for many seasons now and they constantly provide efforts to push each other to greater heights. Even though Lando hasn’t won a race yet, he has managed to provide results consistently, giving the team a fair chance to the team.
Lando Norris has been acknowledged by Max Verstappen time and again as one of the fastest drivers on the grid with a competitive car. Verstappen was immediately able to notice Lando’s presence when McLaren bounced back in the later half of the season. F1 pundits even claimed that Lando and McLaren could potentially beat Max Verstappen to a race win in upcoming races.
Norris earns praise from Max Verstappen
During a recent interview Max Verstappen was talking about his 14th race win this season and the potential teams he thinks have or may catch up to the Red Bulls in the remaining races. Verstappen had admitted earlier that the Papaya team had managed to get closer to Red Bull than other outfits this season.
Sunday’s results have effectively reaffirmed his statements and Verstappen was commenting about the same, “Yeah, I do think so. I mean, I mentioned before why I think it was that close. But for sure, yeah, I mean, McLaren is making great steps forward, throughout the whole year. And from our side, yeah, for sure, we’ll try to improve maybe a little bit this year, but of course mainly for next year.”
Earlier, Max had commented that Lando Norris is a ‘ formidable’ competitor when Lando finally clinched a podium for McLaren after the troubles from the start of the season. Max had even stated that he was going to keep his guard up and Lando, in any way, isn’t to be taken lightly.
Lando Norris Aims to Break Red Bull’s Hegemony
Lando Norris is equally excited to take the fight up to Red Bull after his contract extension and recent statements claiming that he wants to win and be happy with McLaren giving them the ultimate title sometime in future.
Lando has issued a warning statement to Red Bull in lieu of recent races and he claims that they are indeed going to hunt down the Bulls with more performance.
“That is how we do it. If I am reading the TV correct its P3 also. It’s a double podium. Let’s keep working, we are coming for Red Bull. Thank you to everyone track side and back at the factory love you all.”
