Weeks after suffering from hamstring injury, Packers’ Aaron Jones questionable for pivotal Raiders showdowns

This year the Green Bay Packers rejuvenated their squad, keeping their vet receiver Aaron Jones at the helm to assist their quarterback Jordan Love in scoring. Though Aaron Rodgers-less Packers already snatched two wins, the team’s offense was spotted suffering in the earlier part of the season.

The Green Bay Packers’ final injury report heading into their Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders was released on Saturday by head coach Matt LaFleur. In that list, unfortunately, their two offensive weapons Jones and cornerback Jaire Alexander were mentioned.

Aaron Jones questionable in Raiders clash

In Week 1’s 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears in the season opener for Green Bay, Aaron Jones tore his hamstring near the conclusion of his 35-yard touchdown reception and run. According to reports, the Packers categorized him as questionable for Monday’s game against the Raiders due to his injury.

Jones just played 20 snaps and handled six touches for 14 yards in the Detroit Lions game before missing the following two contests. On Thursday and Friday, he just partially participated in practice. The running back stated this week that he has been getting progressively better but would continue to be cautious to quickly recover.

“I’m feeling good. Just still taking it day by day. The hamstring, it can linger so don’t want any of that. That’s why they’ve been so cautious. Anytime you get a hamstring, it’s not what you want but been doing my best to try to get back out there.”

LaFleur claimed that Jones did not perform any less than he did on Thursday and Friday, which finally led to his participation in last Thursday’s game. As a result, LaFleur predicted that everything would be in place for Jones to play on Monday. The Pro Bowl running back accumulated 59 yards with one score and three receptions in just two games this season so far.

Star CB Jaire Alexander joins Jones on the list

Jaire Alexander missed the last two games due to a back issue and has been sidelined since Week 3, yet he practiced all week. In their Week 5 game, Alexander was also listed as questionable.

Regarding Jaire Alexander’s practice week, Matt LaFleur stated that Alexander was moving in their direction and that they would ultimately make a decision regarding his game status after evaluating his conditions just before the game.

“He did everything we asked him to do. We’ll see how he’s feeling on Monday night.”

The cornerback had an outstanding opening two games of the 2023 NFL season, recording eight tackles and two pass breakups.

However, if the two players are unable to convince the team management that they have improved and qualified for the lineup against the Raiders, the night will undoubtedly be challenging for their Raider’s journey.
