Jeanie Buss, the controlling owner and president of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Jay Mohr, a top actor and comedian, tied the knot on September 3, 2023. Jeanie Buss, who took over the mantle as the Lakers’ president in 2013, has been consistent in her plans to rebuild the franchise, despite a handful of rough years.
In the wake of a love affair revelation by a former NBA player and Hall of Famer involving Jeanie Buss during his brief stint with the Lakers, the newly married woman had openly contradicted the former player’s revelation.
Jeanie Buss addresses Dennis Rodman dating rumors
Former NBA player and Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, who played for the Lakers during the 1998-1999 season, had claimed to have dated Jeanie Buss, which the now president has contradicted. According to a YouTube video of the show “InDepth With Graham Bensinger,” Buss disclosed not to have had any love dealings with Dennis Rodman, as she merely kept tabs on him.
Buss said, “I did not date Dennis Rodman, when my dad [then-Lakers owner Jerry Buss] brought on Dennis Rodman to the team it was kind of like, ‘Let’s make sure that we know where he is at all times.” Buss contradicted what Rodman disclosed on VLAD TV in September that he had a six-month fling with Buss.
Dennis Rodman who played just 23 games for the Lakers in his penultimate season, also disclosed that the alleged affair caused a rift between the team’s two stars, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Rodman said, “They rarely would talk to me, even in games, i think that’s the main reason why they cut me. They went to the upper hand, and they didn’t want me anymore.”
Buss claims to still sign her Playboy photos
Jeanie Buss made magazine headlines in May 1995 when she posed nude with a basketball in front of the Lakers’ championship trophies. In a recent interview on “InDepth With Graham Bensinger,” Buss opened up about her Playboy experience nearly three decades ago. She also disclosed how connected her family is to the brand, stating that her dad, Dr. Jerry Buss, owned a Playboy Club in Phoenix, Arizona, and his sister, Susan, used to be a Playboy bunny.
Buss revealed the advice she got from Patti McGuire, an ex-playmate, who reminded her of the consequences as pictures never go away. Just like McGuire had said, Buss disclosed she still receives multiple requests to sign the photos.
Buss said, “And when you pose you accept that that’s part of the program, except the internet has made it that I literally, probably receive five to 10 requests a week where people have printed the pictures and asked me to sign them.”
Jeanie Buss who disclosed taking the photos as a way of achieving a transformative experience for her confidence and self-esteem, said there are no regrets of her taking the photos.
