The USWNT crashed out of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand after losing to Sweden on penalties, with Megan Rapinoe blasting her penalty over the crossbar. The four-time World Champions were tipped to go farther than they eventually did, with many pundits and fans setting up a grand final between them and England.
Sadly, the USWNT only won one game at the World Cup, the team’s opening game against Vietnam, which ended in a 3-1 win. The next three games ended in a draw, two being goalless, making many point hands at the team for not trying hard enough.

Former US President Donald Trump is pointing fingers at Megan Rapinoe for the team’s premature elimination from the Women’s World Cup. The pair’s online back and forth has been going on for a while, with Trump claiming Rapinoe has disrespected her country at every chance she has had.

Megan Rapnioe led the USWNT to World Cup glory in France in 2019 when Donald Trump was still president. The team was invited to the White House to celebrate their success with the country, but Rapinoe rejected the invitation. “I’m not going to the f***king White House,” she told Eight by Eight in an interview. According to her, she did not trust Trump’s policies as the president of the United States.

Trump quickly took to social media to comment on Rapinoe’s refusal to visit the White House. He tweeted, “Megan should never disrespect our country, the White House, or our flag, especially since so much has been done for her and the team.”
“Megan should first win before she speaks,” Trump protested.

Donald Trump did not hold back in his assessment of the USWNT’s disgraceful elimination from the ongoing Women’s World Cup at the hand of Sweden. “The shocking and totally unexpected loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden. Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Trump was talking about some of the players refusing to sing the national anthem as a way of protesting. Some are now saying the players should have been focused on playing football rather than being involved in the country’s social and political issues.
