The recently retired NFL player Tom Brady made headlines on numerous occasions throughout his 23 seasons in the league. In addition to receiving honors on the field, he occasionally infuriated the news media with criticism.
An angry exchange took place between Brady and Tyrann Mathieu during a crucial game between the Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which the Bucs squad defeated the Chiefs and won Super Bowl LV.
What happened between Tom Brady and Tyrann Mathieu?
The game featured two of the biggest teams in the league, and the interaction between TB12 and Mathieu heightened the intensity even further. At the conclusion of the first half, Mathieu said something to Brady that caused Mr. California Cool to lose his composure. Upon chasing him, he made a remark to him face-to-face.
Following the play, the broadcast showed both players staring at one another, giving the impression that the tension between the two was perhaps far from over. The player tweeted about the situation, but he later removed the post and chose not to reveal the former Buccaneers starter’s comments.
“He called me something I won’t repeat,” he tweeted. “But yeah I’ll let all the media throw me under [the] bus as if I did something or said something to him.”
Tom Brady reportedly apologized to Tyrann Mathieu to squash their Super Bowl LV Feud
The 45-year-old hasn’t really had any opponents or teammates throw serious accusations at him since entering the NFL, unlike Mathieu, who up until this point has remained a mystery to the whole NFL community. California Cool lost his composure during that game, but after the match concluded, he recovered some of his calm and sent Mathieu a text message to apologize.
After the game in which Tyrann received a penalty, he claimed that he was completely taken aback by seeing the former NFL star in a different light.
“Listen, Tom Brady’s a great quarterback. I never really saw that side of Tom Brady, to be honest,” said Mathieu.
The five-time Super Bowl MVP referred to the former Chiefs player as the “ultimate competitor” and said in his text that he would soon seek an apology from him.
Brady’s statement and his apologies are both still unknown to the masses. However, it is not too hard to see that the future Hall of Famer believed he was mostly to blame for his side of the confrontation.
