Tech giant Apple has now picked up a new interest. After years of dominating the market with iPods, MacBook, iPads and iPhones it was time for something different. To feed the population of over a billion users worldwide, Apple has now stepped into sports to amplify that number.
Apple has announced the launch of an application to provide the complete sporting experience to its users, bringing together a whole catalogue of sports to choose from.
Apple Sports: What is it and its features?
Apple, with its new launch, has brought the sports world closer to its users. The app Apple Sports is designed especially for sport enthusiasts so that they can catch up with their favorite sports anywhere anytime.
The exclusive features available in the app helps its users to get real-time scores, updated stats and also solves the complaints about Apple’s complex interface, bringing an easier interface instead. It also prioritizes the users’ favorite sport and team and puts them at the front. It is already available for download in the Apple Store in the UK, U.S. and Canada.
Regarding the new app, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services said, “We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats”. He continued to state “Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store, and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favorite teams and leagues.”
If an app that streams live games is connected to the Apple TV app and a game is selected from the Sports app, then it starts streaming the live game.
Which sports does Apple Sports track?
The Apple Sports app supports the Premier League, La Liga, Liga MX, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga, NBA, NCAA basketball, NHL and MLS. Apple had already acquired the streaming rights of MLS last year after the Soccer world’s greatest player Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami CF.
The idea behind creating this app was to give its users the experience of a simpler and faster way to stay updated with their favorite leagues, teams, their stats and lineups. With easy navigation and the ability to customize scoreboards and track chosen teams, it’s set to become a sports lover’s paradise. Besides that, it gives updates about upcoming games and most importantly, does not include ads.
As per reports, it has been confirmed that the tech Giants will include other sports like MLB, NWSL, NCAAF, and WNBA in the foreseeable future.
