Beyond his responsibilities as UFC CEO, Dana White’s entrepreneurial mindset excels in ventures outside the octagon. One such venture, the controversial yet captivating slap-fighting league “Dana White’s Power Slap,” claims a considerable share of his non-UFC time. While public opinion on the sport remains divided, White advocates it with unwavering determination.
Interestingly, White’s business interests extend beyond the realm of combat sports. Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC, boasts a diverse portfolio, including the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). White himself owns a PBR bull, which he bought from Bryce Cooper as a reminder of his diverse and occasionally surprising business interests.
What is Dana White’s prized possession Twisted Steel?
Twisted Steel is the name of Dana White’s bull that gained notoriety for its impressive performances at the PBR. The massive bull has immense strength and only a very few have sat more than 8 seconds above the bull. It needs to be noted that the animal is a prized possession of the UFC CEO.
In addition to its impressive performance, it was its connection to Dana White that made it famous in the sporting realm. After he bought the bull, White debuted his bull at the PBR in September. It also needs to be noted that Twisted Steel also has a fanbase among bull riders.
The Dana White-Twisted Steel connection has transcended the sports of both the UFC and PBR. Many UFC fighters are big fans of PBR. UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland recently attended the event where he met UFC legend Don Frye. UFC Hall of Famer Donald Cerrone was also at a recent PBR and he also happens to be a bull rider as well.
Dana White accepts Donald Cerrone’s challenge
Twisted Steel was recently challenged by none other than retired UFC Hall of Famer Donald Cerrone. Cerrone’s public callout at a PBR event made fans go into a frenzy and White has recently accepted the challenge on behalf of Twisted Steel.
“Challenge accepted!!! @Cowboycerrone vs Twisted Steel at @PBR May 18th at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX”, tweeted White on X. White also uploaded a video with the tweet and even referenced that the previous professional lasted just 2.5 seconds with Twisted Steel.
Interestingly, White even pledged to donate $50,000 of Cerrone’s choice for riding his badass bull. Moreover, he even promised to give $100K to Cerrone if he could last 8 seconds on top of the acclaimed bull. The PBR finals will be on May 18, and according to White, this is the best time for Cerrone to ride the bull as he will also get time to train.
Sean Strickland recently accepted the challenge of a PBR bull rider to ride a bull if and only if the two could engage in a sparring match soon after. However, as Strickland is the current middleweight champion, White might not have gone on with the plans. Strickland recently caused a scare as he burned his body during a New Year celebration; he is scheduled to headline UFC 297 on January 20.
