What sort of food habit does Novak Djokovic have? Examining the Serbian’s diet to keep him at peak

Novak Djokovic remains one of the most disciplined athletes and tennis players in the world in terms of diet. The Serbian star’s book, titled Serve to Win: The 14-Day Gluten-Free Plan for Physical and Mental Excellence, has been like a dictionary to many tennis players. Djokovic proved all that he wrote in that book after winning his 24th Grand Slam title in the US Open and became world no.1 at 36, toppling 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz.

However, ahead of the ATP Paris Masters 1000, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were seen in a viral video training hard against each other on the court, which left tennis fans mesmerized with their stunning practice.

Examining Novak Djokovic diet

Novak Djokovic has frequently revealed how much of a role his diet plays. A few years after he turned pro, he often experienced severe exhaustion and blackouts during long games, which always required him to take a medical break. But since 2011, the Serbian star has listened to the advice of nutritionist Dr. Igor Cetejovic, who found out about his allergy and made changes to his diet by eliminating gluten.

Djokovic became strict with the change and his body began to fit in well with the hectic conditions of tennis. Novak Djokovic now lives on a gluten and dairy-free diet while limiting his sugar intake. He also eats vegetables, beans, white meat, fish, fruit, nuts, seeds, chickpeas, lentils and healthy oils.

Novak Djokovic has a strict, balanced diet consisting of a mix of good carbohydrates that enable him to have energy and endurance for long hours on the court and good protein that helps convert excess calories into muscle mass. The 36-year-old star also has a routine of waking up in the morning and doing a full body stretch before yoga and Tai Chi.

After breakfast, Djokovic will then go to the court and train for 2 hours, then have a stretch. After lunch, he would head to the gym to do strength, weight and resistance training, which would condition his body to be match-ready. He makes sure to allow his body to rest, recover and regenerate. In the evening, he gets massages to help accelerate the recovery of his body. Before he goes to bed, he spends time in the fitness pod, a chamber that helps increase blood circulation throughout the body and aids in muscle recovery.

Fans left mesmerized by stunning Djokovic training with Carlos Alcaraz

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz have been locked in a tight battle for world no. 1 since May but as the season comes to an end, the battle for ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by Pepperstone Honors has gotten fiercer but that didn’t stop the duo from practicing together.

The top two seeds at the Rolex Paris Masters enjoyed a training session that left fans mesmerized by their play. Novak Djokovic, who is a six-time Paris Masters champion, would be seeking his seventh title, while Alcaraz would hope to lift a major title since his Wimbledon triumph. Djokovic will open his tournament against doubles partner Miomor Kecmanovic or Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverr. Second-seeded Alcaraz will either play home favorite Alexandre Miller or Roman Safiullin.

Some fans reacted very kindly to seeing the video of the two tennis stars practicing.

A fan wrote, “looking like a finals match already.”

Another fan reacted: “Masterclass!!!”
