Alongside her husband, The Miz, Maryse has been a prominent figure in WWE for over twenty years, known for her personality and wrestling skills. Recently, on her Instagram account, Maryse shared some troubling health news.
The former Divas champion revealed that a biopsy on her uterus and ovaries uncovered significant borderline malignancies. Despite being a well-known personality, finding appropriate medical care proved challenging for Maryse.
What happened to Maryse?
The Miz’s wife and former WWE Divas Champion, Maryse, recently posted an Instagram update that raised some serious health concerns like cancer despite following a strict diet routine. Her disclosure of a diagnosis of uncommon ovarian tumors necessitated a complete hysterectomy surgery to be performed within the next four weeks.
The Los Angeles-based physician Thais Aliabadi was an essential contributor to both the diagnosis and treatment of her condition. Maryse claimed the doctor as her life-saving superhero. She also detailed how she suffers from significant bloating, lethargy, and malaise, which ultimately results in persistent symptoms that are similar to those of pregnancy.
During laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Aliabadi successfully removed eleven ovarian tumors, despite early misdiagnoses. As these tumors were precancerous, it was necessary to perform a complete hysterectomy to avoid the development of cancerous cells.
She is still committed to fighting the illness despite her difficult prognosis. Her experience shows how important it is to stand up for one’s health and get the treatment one needs. We extend our support and hope that Maryse will make a complete and speedy recovery.
When did Maryse last wrestle?
Known for her stunning good looks and impressive wrestling abilities, Maryse Ouellet rose to prominence in the late aughts as a divas division star in WWE. Over 212 days, she solidified her position as the undisputed Divas Champion. Whether she was a professional wrestler or just dabbled in the entertainment industry, Maryse was always a terrifying heel.
Former 2-times Deva’s champion began her WWE career in 2006 and made her main roster debut in 2008, where she swiftly became a star. She spent three years on the main roster until being dismissed in 2011, despite her achievements. But she came back strong half a decade later as a part-time fighter.
At WWE events, she is a frequent sight with her husband, The Miz. Her last match together with Miz was at WrestleMania 2022, where they lost to another iconic WWE couple “The Grit” in a mixed tag team match.
