Among all the divisional play of the NFL this season, the contenders of the AFC North have kept themselves in the edge position, with intense competition among them. In spite of winning four games, Ja’Marr Chase and Co. sit at the bottom of the division, leading the Houston Texans’ C.J. Stroud to have a cheerful day in the locker room, after embracing defeat to the Texans in Week 10.
Amid this frustrating situation, NBA legend LeBron James stretched his helping hand for the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, presenting an iconic gift for the Bengals’ star.
LeBron surprises Ja’Marr Chase with a unique gift
Inspired by the 2006 introduction of LeBron James’ basketball shoes in limited editions, the Nike LeBron 4 Vapor Edge cleats are scheduled to launch in the spring of 2024. It’s back, but this time it’s redesigned to look like a vintage cleat.
The NBA legend thought it appropriate to express his love for Ja’Marr Chase before the release, as the player was from James’ home state. LeBron sent him a gift box filled with a pair of the newest sneakers along with a box of Ja’Marr Pebbles as a gift.
In the midst of the harsh criticism from Patrick Mahomes’ trainer, the present arrived at the ideal moment for the receiver. He shared his excitement with his fans, opening the present and sharing all of it on social media.
With the gift, James paved the way for the Nike company with another advertisement opportunity after USC quarterback Caleb Williams and Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. have also been spotted wearing LeBron cleats during their games this season.
Ja’Marr Chase removed from the injury report
The Bengals’ wide receiver suffered an injury during the team’s Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills. Hence, prior to the Bengals’s loss to the Texans, Ja’Marr Chase was listed as questionable to play.
Though he suggested Joe Burrow appear in the game only being fit as his quarterback was dealing with serious injury, Chase himself conquered his injury overnight. He was limited in practice, although he appeared on 54 snaps during the 30-27 loss to the Texans, recording five catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
His actions gave the impression that the Bengals receiver’s physical condition was good. Thus, prior to their Week 11 match, the team removed his name from their Monday injury report, according to NBC Sports. One of the league’s top wide receivers, when healthy, the two-time Pro Bowler is poised to start his career with more than 1,000 yards for the third time in a row.
Tee Higgins has already been ruled out with a hamstring injury; hence, the news regarding Ja’Marr Chase will surely serve as a ray of hope for a bounce-back performance against the Baltimore Ravens.
