F1 commentator claims Lance Stroll to leave Aston Martin in 2024
During a recent Sky Sports F1 broadcast, commentator David Croft speculated that Lance Stroll, the current driver for Aston Martin, may have lost his confidence and could potentially leave the sport in the near future.
In 2023, it seemed like a promising start for the Canadian driver, but Croft believes that he has lost his direction since then. While he may still enjoy racing in Formula 1 at times, there are moments where Croft observes that Lance Stroll seems to have a desire to pursue other interests. Croft hopes to see the same motivated and focused Stroll that appeared in Bahrain, as he believes that Stroll has lost his drive and enthusiasm as the season has progressed.
David Croft had this to say about the Canadian driver “We’ve never looked at his future elsewhere, but I just have a little feeling that in about a year and a half’s time, Lance Stroll will race his last race in Formula 1 and go off and do something else”
“I just think he’s losing his mojo. I don’t think Formula 1 was the sport he wanted to go into when he was younger.”
Mike Krack apologised to Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll for the Aston Martin’s failure
Aston Martin F1’s team principal, Mike Krack, has expressed his apologies to drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll for their recent performance decline. However, he is optimistic that the team has identified the main weaknesses in their car. During an interview, Krack stated that he is “very confident” but emphasized the importance of gathering more data to accurately assess their position in the game.
According to the Formula 1 website, Team Principal of Aston Martin Mike Krack said, “I’m very confident because, over the last three or four events, you always need a little bit more data to see where you are because it’s also a relative game.”
He added, “Other competitors are also changing their cars, so you’re always chasing a moveable target.
But, at the end of the day, we are quite confident we have identified the main weaknesses and now it is about trying to solve them, and not trying to introduce others.”
“I’m really sorry for our drivers that we have not maybe managed to keep up there but, rest assured, we will try everything to come back.”
