When is Von Miller returning to NFL? Exploring his potential comeback date

Before the previous season, the Buffalo Bills acquired Von Miller, who had a 12-year career and a long list of awards and achievements to his credit for his explosive pass-rushing skills and tenacious defense. His stint with the squad was unfortunately ruined by an injury that prevented him from playing since November 2022 in Buffalo or anyplace else in North America.

As the anticipation is palpable among the Bills supporters and they eagerly want to see his signature plays, the linebacker himself informed the crowd of his potential return window.

When is Von Miller likely to make NFL comeback?

The Bills placed Von Miller on the PUP list to begin his second season, and Week 5 marks the first cutoff point at which Miller can be removed from the list.

Von Miller makes a suggestion that Bills supporters may have spotted him on the field wearing the Bills jersey in London on Sunday, on Tuesday’s episode of The Von Cast, via B/R Gridiron if he is a “betting man”. On the day, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills will face each other.

“I don’t know if the fans can expect to see me yet, but if I was a betting man I would say yeah, you can expect to see Von Miller in London.”

The 34-year-old later says that he wants to take part but isn’t sure whether he will be able to because he only gets one padded practice rather than several.

“It’s still not a promise that I play in this game. I want to play in this game. I gotta practice tomorrow and I only get one padded practice. So obviously I got out there and I [need to] look amazing with this padded practice.”

However, the player still harbors a glimmer of optimism that he will be able to impress the team’s management during practice on Wednesday and will be given the all-clear to fight alongside his teammates against the Jaguars.

“I really don’t have all the time in the world to like figure it out. I get one padded practice. So hopefully I look amazing tomorrow. I feel really strongly that I will. That’s just how I think I feel like I will be amazing tomorrow and everybody will give me the green light to go play in the game.”

The Bills’ head coach, Sean McDermott, informed the media this week that the team was planning on creating Miller’s 21-day practice schedule and would just take things “one day at a time.”

What injury did Von Miller get?

Miller sustained a right ACL tear during a 2022 Week 12 game against the Detroit Lions and had an exploratory knee surgery in December. But ever since the season began, he had been looking forward to returning to the field soon. Despite being on the PUP list, he stayed with the team the whole training camp, working out most days to the side of practice.

The Bills struggled mightily to fill the vacuum left by the seasoned linebacker this season as a result of Miller’s absence. The two-time Super Bowl champion had a total of eight sacks and 12 quarterbacks last season with the Buffalo team.

Nevertheless, his return has given the squad new hope and vigor, and it couldn’t have come at a better moment as the Bills prepare for a pivotal game against the Jaguars. All eyes will be on Miller in London to see if he can join the Bills on the field and advance the Bills’ chances of winning the championship.

Do you think he can win the heart of his team in the practice and will appear in the Week 5 game?
