When will Brazilian GP start? Revealing date, time, schedule of Lewis Hamilton’s home race

The Brazilian GP comes around and Lewis Hamilton is ready to impress his ‘home’ fans. Yes, you heard that right. Lewis Hamilton is indeed a British driver but the Mercedes star has won the heart of Brazil in such a way that he can now call the country of Senna his own home. The second-last round of the 2023 season will be a special one for Lewis Hamilton.

Brazilian GP is fans for it’s fans, Lewis’s special words and most of all because of the great ‘Ayrton Senna’, The late F1 legend was a sensation in grand prix racing during his prime and almost all of Brazil idolized the sport of football.

The 2023 Sao Paulo GP, also dubbed the Brazilian GP, will be held this weekend from November 3rd to November 5th, after the Mexico GP ends with it’s own surprises. The 2023 season of F1 now reaches it’s end as viewers prepare themselves for this carnival of a race. The Brazilian GP was introduced in 1973 after the success of Brazilian driver Emmerson Fittipaldi. Since then, the circuit has become a regular host of F1 races, attracting a lot of viewers over the course of the year.

Autódromo José Carlos Pace hosts the Formula 1 Rolex Grand Prix de São Paulo every year, with fans getting greeted by many different types of surprises every year. Once, the home of Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian GP and it’s track paid tribute to the F1 great by naming turns 1 to 3 as Senna S after him.

The track is 4.3 kilometers long and it incorporates a total of 71 laps, taking up the total race distance by a whopping 305.89 kilometers. The lap record of the Brazilian GP has been held by Valterri Bottas since 2018, when he set a time of 1:10:540 in his Mercedes.

The Brazilian GP qualifying session starts this Friday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM circuit time, leading to a sprint on Saturday. The Sprint Shootout will be held on November 4th from 11:00 a.m. track time to 11:44 a.m. It will be followed by a sprint race later that evening from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM (track time). The grand finale and main race will be held on Sunday, November 5th, at 2:00 PM (track time).

Reason for Brazilian GP being dubbed Hamilton’s home GP

Lewis Hamilton has always adored the legendary Ayrton Senna and after his win in 2021 in the Brazilian GP, he surprised his spectators and admirers in the country by pleasantly waving the Brazilian flag like his old F1 hero used to. Congressman Andre Figueiredo was moved by his remarkable gesture and he proposed that Sir Lewis Hamilton should receive honorary citizenship in the country.

“I feel like I am now one of you,” said Lewis, after receiving the great honor and he went on to deliver a speech in memory of his idol as he expressed his elated emotions. Lewis has always loved Brazil and it looks like the people reciprocate his love to an even greater extent. While Brazil was left without a home hero after the death of Senna, they will surely look forward to their ‘Brazilian hero’ Lewis Hamilton in the 2023 Brazilian GP.
