Although The Cenation Leader has been away from the ring for a majority of the time in the recent years due to his limited schedule, he has been making a few appearances here and there in WWE shows. His last appearance was at the Money In The Bank live event this year. It has been recently reported that the 16-time World Champ is set to make a few more appearances in the upcoming weeks.
It’s no surprise that John Cena is making 2-3 appearances in WWE for quite some time. The 46-year-old superstar has talked about how it’s getting more difficult for him to perform in the ring these days, despite wanting to be in the ring every single week. Nowadays, he’s a big name in the Hollywood industry, with his new movie ‘Vacation Friends 2’ releasing sometime next month.
John Cena set to return next month
Recent reports, as well as WWE and Cena himself have confirmed that he will be making an appearance on SmackDown in September 1 and at WWE’s event in India called the Superstar Spectacle. Notably, this would be John Cena’s first time ever wrestling in India. The 16-time World Champ also announced that he’s excited to reunite with the WWE Universe on SmackDown next month, at The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The Cenation Leader last stepped in the ring back at WrestleMania 39 this year, where he challenged United States Champion Austin Theory in a singles bout. Although Cena lost the match, fans appreciated him for delivering an amazing performance to kick off the night. He later made a surprise appearance at this year’s Money In The Bank in London at The O2 Arena.
Superstar Spectacle will be WWE’s first event in India since 2017, and it will also mark the first time that John Cena ever wrestled or made an appearance in the country. The event will take place at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad on Friday, September 8.
