The Royal Rumble is a traditional 30-man/woman Battle Royal match, where a wrestler comes out to the ring every 90 seconds or 2 minutes. In the match, a player must be tossed over the ropes and have both feet touch the ground to be eliminated. The last man standing wins the match. This match is usually the main event of the night. Fans are always on the edge of their seats since the entrants who come out are always a surprise. We have even seen a lot of superstar returns at the Royal Rumble matches in the past few years.
WWE reveals Royal Rumble 2024 date and venue
WWE will host the 2024 Royal Rumble at Tampa Bay, Florida. The date of the event has been revealed to be January 27th, which is around the same time that the event took place this year. The company announced that the long-awaited event will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. This marks the first time that the show will take place at the venue since 1995.
Other details, such as the timing of the event or the ticket sale, haven’t been revealed yet. As per a press release from WWE, it should be announced soon. WWE has added the Royal Rumble Priority Passes to their website, which give fans early access to buy the tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
This year’s Rumble drew in over 51,000 people. Although these aren’t record-breaking numbers, it’s still an impressive count. The 30-man match was won by Cody Rhodes, who went on to headline WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. Fans are generally hyped for the event, as it creates an element of surprise for them. Hall of Famers or ex-WWE stars sometimes make an appearance in the match, which ends up receiving a surreal amount of pop and creating several memorable moments.
Roman Reigns not featured in Royal Rumble ad
The Royal Rumble usually features the majority of the roster in their matches. However, one prominent superstar has not been advertised to appear at the Rumble next year, and that is none other than Roman Reigns.
Reigns has been working on a part-time schedule for a long time now. Despite competing very often in the ring, he keeps making appearances for The Bloodline storyline. However, The Tribal Chief’s whereabouts have been unknown since he was taken out by Jey Uso over a month ago on SmackDown.

In the poster for the Royal Rumble 2024, Roman Reigns was notably absent from the advertisement. This seemingly disappointed a lot of fans since we haven’t gotten a glimpse of the Undisputed WWE Champion for over a month now. However, given the nature of WWE surprising the fans with surprise returns at the Royal Rumble, fans can hope to see The Tribal Chief compete or show up at least.
A lot of prominent superstars such as Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Bobby Lashley, and many more have been advertised for the Royal Rumble 2024. Fans can expect to see a lot more surprising names appear in the match.
