In spite of possessing an interest in two different games apart from football, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes ended up listing his name as the starter of the team. The quarterback has undergone a meteoric transformation since his rookie season, facilitating his taking over the starter job from Alex Smith and becoming the leader of the Chiefs’ high-powered offense just one season later.
In the rush of record-breaking performances in almost all the games, Mahomes will square off against the Denver Broncos in Week 8, eyeing to uphold two milestones over the Broncos team.
Mahomes set to defend two streaks vs Broncos
Since his success in taking over the starter role, Patrick Mahomes has let the Chiefs team have a consecutive winning streak, having him mentioned as the starter with the NFL record for most divisional road wins to start a career.
Meanwhile, in his upcoming contest, the 28-year-old is going to face the Broncos, the team for which Patrick Mahomes owns a record 12-0 winning streak. As in all the battles, Pat succeeded over the Broncos, so it can be easily said that all the recipes of the Bronco’s plans to apply for the two-time MVP were already discovered by the player.
After starting the season with a one-point loss, the Chiefs are already the No. 1 seed in the AFC division with a six-game winning streak. Hence, their seasoned quarterback will also focus on his 16-0 road record against the 2-5 AFC West rival on the line.
Already, Patrick Mahomes beat the Broncos in Week 6, so this time it will be nothing but for the starter to extend the winning streak over the Broncos. The quarterback is now rushing to add his name as the first quarterback in the NFL to defeat an opposite team 12 times without a loss.
Broncos try to snap long losing streak to Chiefs
The Broncos team has not pulled out a victory over the Chiefs since September 2015. Nevertheless, the scenario of the Broncos’ coaching team has changed a lot as the team acquired Sean Payton and fired Nathaniel Hackett.
Since taking over his role, Payton has hinted at a winning history, though in return, the Broncos collected headlines and Payton collected sly jabs from the whole Jets team and their starter Aaron Rodgers.
Payton is seemingly pissed off seeing his tram’s consecutive losing streak; hence, against the Chiefs, he is focusing only on snatching a win and putting a rest to their losing streak. In responding to a query about the Broncos “getting over the hump” the coach was spotted showing his anger while urging their effort to win a game.
“It wasn’t OUR hump — it wasn’t OUR hump. I’m saying that respectfully — it wasn’t our hump. We’re trying to win,” Pauton said per Fulton Sun.com.
The team is, however, under the spotlight for possible snowy weather. Do you assume an upset victory by the Broncos over Patrick Mahomes? Tell us in the comments.
