Currently making headlines with the USC Trojans, college basketball phenom Bronny James can credit his father, NBA great LeBron James, for much of his meteoric rise to fame. Because of his fame, renowned outlets like Nike have started producing official merchandise with his name on it, and it has been selling like hotcake.
At 6 feet 3 inches tall, Bronny James had already made his mark on the high school basketball scenario. Joining the USC Trojans has helped him become a household name. Bronny has signed several Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals with major companies including Nike, PSD Underwear, and Beats by Dre, capitalizing on his famous family name and rising basketball career.
LeBron James’ son Bronny gets official fan gear with Nike
Earlier this month, Nike released Bronny James’ first official apparel to celebrate his freshman year at USC. After graduating from Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles, the 18-year-old decided to attend the USC Trojans, and Nike has just produced a collection of his clothing in USC’s trademark cardinal colors.
In addition to the name “James Jr.” and the numbers “USC” and “6” on the front, the traditional Nike tee also features the letters “USC” and the number “6” on the back. The $30 sports jersey is now selling out quickly in most sizes on Nike’s official website.
Unfortunately for Bronny James, the debut of his merchandize comes at a time of transition in his basketball career. Earlier in July, he had a fright when he fainted after a USC practice. His congenital cardiac condition was discovered after the USC Trojans’ August 5-15 exhibition tour to Greece and Croatia; therefore, he did not travel with the team. LeBron James and family is optimistic about Bronny’s rehabilitation and a future in basketball.
Bronny’s massive influence in the sports industry was highlighted in October 2022 when he signed a NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deal with Nike. Extra precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of the A-listers who will be in attendance at USC to watch him play.
LeBron’s collab with Mimi Plange released
The legendary basketball player LeBron James has teamed up with the Ghanaian designer Mimi Plange to give new life to the LeBron 20 sneaker. The “Bright Crimson” colorway is a cultural homage which follows the pair’s previous successful partnership on the LeBron 18 Low.
Contrary to the norm, the sneakers’ upper features bold floral patterns that blend into the traditional orange Swooshes. The colorful laces conceal a small amount of “Bold Berry” purple at the forefront.
The prominent placement of co-branding on the shoe’s sockliner and heel, exemplifies the team effort that went into creating this product. The all-white sole finishes off the design. Although official Nike pictures have been made available, specifics concerning this cooperation remains obscure.
As the release of the LeBron 21 draws near, fans can look forward to the fall arrival of LeBron 20. Priced at $250 USD, it will be sold by Nike SNKRS and a few other outlets.
