Ailin Perez and Joselyne Edwards were involved in a pre-match brawl before Perez fought against Lucie Pudilova at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Craig. Both fighters have accused each other of assault. Alex Davis happened to be present when the alleged incident occurred at the UFC PI.
Davis was at the scene of the incident as his fighter, Amanda Ribas, was also competing at the same event against Luana Pinheiro. The alleged incident has caused controversy, and Alex Davis is now at the center of it.
Who is Alex Davis?
MMA fighters are ably guided by their managers. Despite calls from fighters like Sean O’Malley for the role of a manager to be irrelevant in the UFC, there are still many well-known managers in the MMA community. Ali Abdelaziz, Audi Attar, Ash Belcastro, and Tim Simpson are popular MMA managers.
Alex Davis is also a popular MMA manager who mainly manages fighters from Brazil. Davis is a former Judoka who has represented both Brazil and the USA. He still coaches Judo to aspiring children at the American Top Team. Davis represents fighters from across the promotion.
In the UFC, he represents Edson Barboza, Amanda Ribas, Polyana Viana, and Norma Dumont. In the PFL, he represents Thiago Santos and PFL women’s lightweight tournament 2022 winner Larissa Pacheco. In the One Championship, he represents John Linekar.
Alex Davis calls out “a***le” Javier Oyarzabal
In light of Ailin Perez and Joselyne Edwards leveling accusations at each other over an alleged attack at the UFC PI, Davis provided his take on the story. Apparently, he was present with his athlete, Amanda Ribas, at the location of the incident.
Ribas would go on to win her return to strawweight with a Performance Bonus. Alex has aligned with Edwards’ version of the story and pointed his finger toward the coach of Perez, Javier Oyarzabal. Davis stated that it was Oyarzabal who actually caused problems at the PI. Davis faced repercussions after he said what he saw to MMA Mania.
“This is the truth from the point that I was involved. I just ran into Javier Oyarzabal at the event hotel. This guy confronted me with his group of friends trying to call me a liar, trying to scare me!” Davis posted on his X, formerly Twitter, account.
He further added, “You are a coward, you have no business being among us! I am told old to be fighting scumbags in hotel hallways! But fck you you asshole!!”. Apparently, Oyarzabal tried to silence Davis from speaking out and failed.
