Misfits Boxing is a boxing promotion company founded by influencer boxer KSI and Wasserman Boxing, a division of a sports management company based in Los Angeles. Misfits Boxing is noted for their promotion of crossover boxing bouts and now professional boxer David Lopez wants to make his debut with the company.

Misfits Boxing did 3 events in 2022, and in 2023, they organized 8 events. Moreover, in January of 2023, the promotion signed a deal with DAZN Boxing to provide 2 PPVs per year for the upcoming five years. The recent event promoted by them was MF & DAZN: X Series 011 on 17 November 2023.

Nurideen Shahid Shabazz, better known as Deen The Great, is a social media influencer turned boxer. He has fought four times in professional boxing, and once in an exhibition bout. Moreover, he is undefeated in his crossover boxing career. His latest appearance was on the undercard of MF & DAZN: X Series 10 – The Prime Card, headlined by Tommy Fury and KSI.

Deen fought fellow crossover boxer Walid Sharks and won via unanimous decision. Now, David Lopez, a relatively unknown name from professional boxing is setting his sights on the undefeated Deen. Hailing from Oakland, California, USA, “Dynamite” David Lopez is just 19 years old and has a professional boxing record of 4 wins and 0 losses with 3 wins coming via KO.

In the amateur boxing circuit, Lopez was ranked number one in 2015 and 2016 in the United States of America. At present, Lopez is signed with Lou DiBella Entertainment which currently promotes the fighters Regis Prograis, Tevin Farmer, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Ivan Baranchyk, Richard Commey, and George Kambosos Jr.

Lopez is from a family of well-known boxers. His grandfather was well well-known professional boxer in the Philippines in the 1920s. Moreover, his father, “Lightning” Kris Lopez is a former two-time Golden Gloves champion. Furthermore, his older brother, Daniel Lopez is an accomplished boxer in the amateur boxing circuit.

However, influencer boxing has a wide audience as fans wish to see social media influencers with little to no professional experience lock horns inside the ring.

However, now professional boxers with low levels of fame are invading the influencer boxing realm. This trend is growing gradually, and fans predict this to be the beginning of the end for influencer boxing. Influencer boxing fans are concerned, and they vent their frustration about it on social media, particularly after the David Lopez callout of Deen The Great.
