Just like several other top football clubs, Manchester United are known to have a keen interest in young talents. The way Amad Diallo and Pellistri were brought first in the United Academy, Welsh talent Gabriele Biancheri has also been brought on as United’s under-18 setup at Carrington.
In his first few words as a Manchester United player, Biancheri has promised to represent the Red shirt through hard work and requisite commitment, having penned a scholar contract and completed his medicals at United.
Who is Gabriele Biancheri?
Gabriele Biancheri, a talented young player representing Wales at the under-17 level, drew significant attention with his performances in Cardiff’s academy during the previous year.
His remarkable achievement of netting 17 goals in just 11 matches at the start of the season for Cardiff City’s under-18 squad earned him a well-deserved promotion to the under-21 team. In December, he marked his debut for the under-21s in a match against Wolves.
Biancheri has showcased his skills on the youth stage while representing Wales, and it’s worth noting that he possesses eligibility to potentially play for other national sides, such as England and Italy, in international competitions but he represents Wales at the youth level.
Gabriele Biancheri signed his first professional deal with Manchester United
Gabriele Biancheri has just confirmed that he has signed for Manchester United. After attracting significant interest from top contenders like Chelsea, he’s decided to be a Red.
It is believed that Biancheri’s decision to leave Cardiff for United has been influenced by David Hughes, who joined United as a Professional Development Phase coach last summer after working as Cardiff’s academy chief. David Hughes is said to have spoken highly of the 17-year-old Biancheri to influence United’s signature.
Back in December, Steve Jenkins, the head coach of Cardiff’s under-18 team, shared his enthusiastic sentiments regarding Biancheri’s promising potential. He said, “There’s a long way to go with him being only 16, but he’s been fantastic stepping up.”
“Goals are brilliant for him, and his two against Bristol City to win us the game earned that call up to the U21s, and when he had his 45 minutes for them, I was really impressed.”
As a farewell to his former club Gabriele Biancheri wrote, “After more than nine years, my time with Cardiff has come to an end. I’d like to thank all of my coaches for helping me become the player and person I am today and to all my teammates.”
“I’ll forever be thankful for the opportunity I’ve had at this club.”, he previously tweeted.
Biancheri is set to become a part of United’s under-18 setup at Carrington. His aim is to progress steadily through the various age groups, with the ultimate goal of competing for a spot in Erik ten Hag’s senior squad in the upcoming years. He harbours hopes of emulating the success of recent academy graduates such as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, both of whom have had opportunities to showcase their talents in the first team this season.
