Who is Javi Guerra linked with big money transfer to Manchester United?

While Manchester United is yet to play this year, off-field preparations are underway, focusing on reinforcing the team squad to improve results in the second half of the season. The team faced disappointment earlier, crashing out of the UEFA Champions League group stage in December.

To rectify poor results, the club identifies potential targets to bring in during the winter transfer market. Recently, they shifted their focus towards former Chelsea striker Timo Werner, and now Valencia sensation Javi Guerra is the latest name added to the list.

Who is Javi Guerra?

Javi Guerra Moreno was born in Valencia, Spain, in 2003 and currently plays as a midfielder for Valencia. He began his career at the age of five with the local Valencia-based club UD Puzol. Later, he made his first significant leap by joining Villarreal, where he played for ten years before moving to his current team.

In 2019, Guerra left the Villarreal Youth to join his home club Valencia after being unable to make it into the first team of the Yellow Submarines. Through his impressive abilities, the teenager climbed the ranks within the club in three years and eventually reached the top of the club’s hierarchy.

He rose through the ranks, earning his first professional contract in 2021. Eventually, he registered his senior team debut against Atlético Baleares in a Copa del Rey fixture in January 2022, coming off the bench. Fast forward to 2023, and the talented midfielder finally made his first La Liga appearance.

The 20-year-old hasn’t looked back since then, making 10 league appearances last season. He cemented his place as a regular name in the Valencia squad and this season, Javi has already amassed 17 appearances, starting in 14 of them. Furthermore, Javi even managed to score three goals and provide assists.

Javi Guerra linked with Manchester United move

Javi Guerra emerged as one of the best players this season in La Liga. His defensive midfield skills and deep playmaking role facilitate imminent passes, making him a world-class box-to-box midfielder. Additionally, he adds depth to his game by occasionally switching from an attacking to a defensive midfield role.

According to Relevo‘s report, Manchester United is interested in securing the U21 Spanish prodigy, having contacted Valencia for a potential transfer. Erik Ten Hag’s side, seeking midfield reinforcement, closely monitors Guerra alongside Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise for a summer move.

The player is on a long-term contract with the La Liga outfit until 2027. Therefore, the Red Devils would be required to splash €100 million, the release clause in his current contract. However, it’s unlikely Valencia would maintain that price tag and might be willing to negotiate around €40 million.

Is Javi Guerra the player Manchester United need to turn things around? Make sure to tell us in the comments section.
