Lionel Messi is regarded as the best soccer player in history. The Argentine admitted that he truly completed football following his heroics at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where Argentina lifted their first World Cup title since Diego Maradona’s days. This has earned Messi a god-like status in football, with many declaring him the best ever to play the game.
With that much natural ability in Messi’s genes, it’s unsurprising that his son Thiago may be the next Messi. Thiago, alongside Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr., may be the one to carry on the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry after their fathers may have retired from the sport.
Who’s Lionel Messi’s son Thiago? Explained
Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in July to much fanfare. The whole of America welcomed the former Barcelona player, making his transition to the United States easier than he would have expected. Fortunately, this positively impacted his performances for Inter Miami, with the Argentine leading his new club to their first title after winning the Leagues Cup a few weeks ago.
Lionel is not the only Messi to represent Inter Miami, as his son, Thiago, has joined the club’s under-12 youth soccer team, much to his father’s delight. Thiago is Messi’s oldest son with his wife Antonella Roccuzzo. The couple welcomed their first child on November 2, 2012, something Lionel Messi claimed changed his life.
