And now Oussama Falouh, a Moroccan soccer player, has passed away two days ago, and this has affected the whole soccer community. Tributes have flown in for the player in the last two days, and even a big name from France joined in.
Moroccan player Oussama Falouh passes away at 24
Oussama Falouh suffered a serious car crash incident last month and finally passed away on Thursday. The accident occurred on October 11th, and he has been admitted to intensive care since then, during which time he was in a coma. He was only 24 years old at the time of his passing.
His current club, Wydad Casablanca, informed him about the passing in a statement: “With great sadness, the Wydad Athletic Club management office announced the death of the respected player, Oussama Falouh.”
Oussama Falouh had played as a left back for several clubs in his career, which include French clubs Strasbourg FC, Angers SCO, and Moroccan side FUS Rabat. He had only managed 27 top-flight appearances in his career and only had one goal to his name.
He had just joined Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca this summer on a free transfer and could not play a single minute for them. The African club was supposed to face Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday for the first leg of the African Football League final. He only made two appearances for the Moroccan international team at the U23 level.
Achraf Hakimi joins the mourning
Yesterday, Paris Saint-Germain and Moroccan international player Achraf Hakimi joined in on the many tributes for the player. He shared on his Instagram story a picture of a jersey with the words, “Allah Y Rahmek Oussama Falouh” which means “May God have mercy on your soul”.
The two were supposedly close friends and played together at the youth level for the Moroccan team. They were also rivals on the pitch in the French League.
Many of his current teammates, which include Yahya Jabrane, Yahia Attiyat Allah, Youssef El Motie, and Bouly Sambou, expressed their sadness at the demise of their colleague. His previous club, Angers, also released a statement to express their condolences to the player’s family. Even Egyptian club Al Ahly issued a statement for the untimely demise of the player.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and friends of Oussama Falouh and hope that he is well remembered.
