Tom Brady, the legendary former QB of the New England Patriots, ruled the NFL for more than two decades. One of his top-class troops was Dion Lewis. The duo developed excellent camaraderie, and when TB12 started the new phase of his life with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dion was the second rumored player on the former Patriots squad behind Antonio Brown to get enrolled on the Bucs’ roster.
Lewis has been out of the football field as well as the media spotlight for quite some time now. The veteran once again came into the limelight recently after getting embroiled in a legal battle.
Who is Tom Brady’s Super Bowl-winning teammate Dion Lewis?
Lewis, a prolific ex-running back, started his NFL journey after getting selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2011 Draft. He had career stints with the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts before joining Brady in New England.
The former footballer remained with the Patriots from 2015 to 2017 and had been an important part of the team’s Super Bowl during the 2016 season by recording 27 rushing yards on six carries. After closing his journey with the California Cool, he played with two more teams, the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants, before hanging up his cleats on August 13, 2021.
The 32-year-old vet was hired by the University of Albany football team to serve as their assistant RB coach in March this year.
Dion Lewis was arrested for a misdemeanor charge of trespassing
According to a report from TMZ Sports, Dion was arrested in Florida due to the allegations of a misdemeanor charge of trespassing at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa at 2 p.m. A spokesperson from the Seminole Police Department revealed that he was accused of “causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.”
He was released a few hours later in exchange for a bond set at $500, although more details of the allegations were not made immediately available, per TMZ. Meanwhile, this was not the first time for the ex-NFL star to get involved in legal issues, as he was earlier banned from a club due to brutally punching a person in the head on the way out.
