Who is Youssoufa Moukoko expected to leave Borussia Dortmund to join ex-teammate Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid?

Borussia Dortmund is known for being the birthplace of many great players. Many young talents are scouted by the club and developed into great players, who then leave for very high transfer fees. Another such talent being developed is German wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko, who has already made big headlines in recent days.

In recent years, they have made millions by selling the likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Braut Haaland, and Jude Bellingham. And it seems that Youssoufa Moukoko could be the next big talent to leave the German club.

Who is Youssoufa Moukoko?

The 2004-born striker is one of the hottest prospects in recent soccer times. Coming from Borussia Dormund’s academy, he had already established himself as a proficient goal scorer at the youth level. Even Erling Haaland, who saw him firsthand at the club, labeled him the biggest talent back in 2020.

On November 21, the same year, Moukoko made his official debut against Hertha BSC as a substitute for Erling Haaland, making him the youngest player in Bundesliga history at just 16 years old. On December 8, he became the youngest player to play in the UCL as a substitute against Zenit Saint Petersburg.

He would score his first goal in the Bundesliga on December 18 against Union Berlin, making him the youngest player to score in the competition. Since making his debut, he has made 77 appearances for the club and scored 13 goals.

Youssoufa Moukoko is Cameroonian by birth, but he currently plays for the German national team. He was part of the 2022 World Cup squad, despite still not having made his international debut. In a friendly against Oman, he would become the youngest player in German national team history.

When he was substituted in the game against Japan, he became the youngest German player to play in the World Cup. At just 18, Moukoko has become one of the world’s best young strikers.

Borussia Dortmund ready to off load Youssoufa Moukoko

But despite all the hype around him, Dortmund are now unhappy with the striker and actually want to let him go. Moukoko hasn’t been up to standards this season, with only one appearance this season. The coach has preferred to use either Sebastian Haller or Niclas Füllkrug ahead of him. The club now believes his development is not going as planned and wants to sell him now.

According to Spanish media outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid wants to sign the highly rated teenage sensation. The reporter named Elia Mena wrote, “Carlo Ancelotti likes Moukoko, an old friend of Bellingham, and he could fit into Real Madrid’s project at a feasible price.”

Jude Bellingham, who has already impressed at Real Madrid since his move, has recommended the move. The pair had shared the pitch together and Bellingham obviously knows his potential. Carlo Ancelotti also recognizes his abilities and Madrid do require a striker at this point.

Despite having signed a contract keeping him until 2026, Moukoko could now be available at a low price of 35 to 40 million euros. This makes him very cheap in today’s inflated market. Considering both clubs also have a healthy relationship, a deal could be highly possible. Though multiple Premier League clubs are also monitoring the player’s situation,

With his young age and high potential, Youssoufa Moukoko could prove to be a great signing for the Los Blancos. It remains to be seen whether the club does decide to go for the youngster.
