It is not every day that basketball fans see coaches get sent off during a match in the NBA, and the fans were able to witness such a rare spectacle on Saturday night as coach Ime Udoka was ejected from the game.
The Lakers faced the Rockets on Saturday night, and it did not go well for the Rockets. Not only were they in a bad position in the match, but their head coach also got sent off after an altercation with Lakers ace LeBron James.
Why did Ime Udoka get ejected?
The head coach of the Houston Rockets, Ime Udoka, was sent off after exchanging words with the future Hall of Famer LeBron James. The Rockets were in a bad position in the match as the Lakers were dominating them and were on the way to securing a win for themselves. Tensions were high on the Houston bench as Udoka had already received a technical earlier in the game.
In the final moments of the match, James was near the bench of the Rockets when Ime Udoka confronted him. The two seemed to have an altercation and the referee J.T. Orr, who was responsible for officiating the match, arrived at the scene.
After listening to the conversation the referee reached for his whistle and handed a technical foul to both James and Udoka. It was the second technical of the game for the head coach of the Rockets so he was ejected from the game.
Lakers beat Rockets
The Lakers looked fresh and full of energy in their match against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. Anthony Davis who was criticized for past performances emerged as the hero for the purple and gold alongside the rising star Austin Reaves as the Lakers won the game with a final score of 107-97. Not surprisingly, Dillon Brooks received a technical foul, delighting the fans in the crypto arena.
AD suffered quite the physical abuse in the game as he was accidentally hit by an elbow to the face by Jalen Green; however, he decided to stay in the game instead of resting. Davis scored 27 points and collected 14 rebounds while making five crucial blocks. Reaves started to pop off in the second quarter and ended the game with 18 points and four rebounds.
