Logan Paul, the Maverick, is set to defend his United States Championship against Kevin Owens at the upcoming Royal Rumble. Owens earned his opportunity by defeating Santos Escobar in the finals of the number 1 contender match at the New Year’s Revolution episode of WWE SmackDown on January 5.
Logan was at the commentary table during the match, and on the latest episode of SmackDown, Logan issued a warning to Owens by threatening him with a legal notice.
Why Logan Paul threatened Kevin Owens with legal action?
Kevin Owens, the number 1 contender for the United States Championship made his appearance to this week’s SmackDown with a huge applause, after defeating Santos Escobar last week. Owens was taking with his fans while suddenly the Maverick appeared on the big screen. Logan appeared on the titantron and issued a warning message to Owens.
He said, “This little black eye you gave me, it’s not just a black eye. It’s evidence. Turns out that little cast on your hand could be a liability, a liability not just for me, but for our match. Because if you think you’re just gonna stroll into the Royal Rumble with that cast, excuse me, with that weapon, on your hand, I promise, I’m not just gonna beat you in a wrestling match. No, I am gonna beat you in the court of law.”
All this kicked off on last week’s Smackdown, when Owens attacked Logan after winning the number 1 contender match for the United States Championship against Santos Escobar. Logan was in the commentary desk and after the match he insulted Owens by speaking against the people of Canada. Owens didn’t give any reply to Logan, but this feud has reached the next level after this segment.
Wrestling fans call Logan Paul hypocritical for threatening Kevin Owens
Following the note from Logan Paul last week, fans began to criticize Logan on social media and threw back to his Championship victory. Logan won the United States Championship from the Hall Of Famer, Rey Mysterio, at Crown Jewel in November 2023.
On the match Logan used a Brass Knuckles, brought to the ring by Santos Escobar, who betrayed the LWO after the match. Meanwhile when Escobar was distracting the referee, Logan hit Mysterio with Knuckles on his head and won the title.
