Why did WWE blur “Yeet” on Jey Uso’s shirt?

Following his departure from the Bloodline, Jey Uso is reintroducing himself to the wrestling world on RAW. His charm, catchy theme tune, and ability to interact with the audience keep everyone hooked. However, there’s a catch: the part of his character that everyone loves might be gone.

Since Jey Uso went solo in the fall of 2024, WWE and Jey himself have fully embraced the ‘YEET’ trademark. Now there’s talk that they could remove the term due to a trademark issue. Something is shifting for Jey Uso.

Why did WWE blur “Yeet” on Jey Uso’s shirt?

After Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso both used the phrase “YEET” on Monday Night RAW, it became an integral component of the show. Many viewers enjoyed it, but now it seems that the good times may be coming to an end.

A trailer for Monday Night Raw included a blurred version of Jey Uso’s jersey with the word “YEET” on it. According to WrestleVotes, WWE is now dealing with trademark difficulties over Jey Uso’s trademarked word “YEET.”

The term “YEET” rose to fame in the early 2010s, thanks to apps like Vine. It evolved into a flexible verb for energetic behaviors from its original meaning of energy. More than just a word, it symbolizes enthusiasm and individuality, and its cultural influence is substantial. The fact that it has a trademark probably won’t shock anybody, given how common it is.

Therefore, Jey Uso will no longer use the phrase, and all items associated with it will either be removed from sale or renamed. It appears to be a licensing issue, though the exact cause of the problem is unclear. Both WWE and Jey Uso have decided to stop using the phrase for the time being.

Jey Uso dedicates WWE RAW main event to Umaga

Fans were thrilled when Jey Uso returned to WWE Payback following his departure from Smackdown. His bookings have been going strong on Monday Night RAW recently. He considers this a major fight since he will be fighting Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title in the main event tonight.

On this particular night, the wrestling world bids farewell to Umaga, the uncle of Jey Uso, a man who passed away fourteen years ago. As tonight’s fight versus Rollins is dedicated to his late uncle Umaga, who was a WWE star in the late 2000s, Jey Uso is paying tribute to him. This night is monumental for the aspiring singles star, and it just makes it more so.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
