Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s involvement in the Bloodline storyline has heightened anticipation for WrestleMania 40. His return to the Stamford-based promotion in January shook the landscape of WWE, and his ongoing feud with Cody Rhodes is exceeding fans’ expectations.
‘The Great One’ and ‘The American Nightmare’ are eyeing to outdo each other, intensifying the situation. Recently, The Rock referred to himself as the ‘final boss’ ahead of his WrestleMania 40 match.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s ‘Final Boss’ self-identification explained
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is famous for having multiple nicknames in the world of professional wrestling, including ‘The People’s Champ,’ ‘The Great One’, ‘The Brahma Bull,’ and ‘The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment.’ He recently added a new nickname to his collection after returning to WWE: The Final Boss.
Some people believe that the title “Final Boss” is not entirely appropriate for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, considering his time with the promotion. Although he occasionally appears in WWE, it doesn’t align with the traditional concept of a final boss.
The Rock still refers to himself as the final boss in his promos, utilizing both his on-screen persona and off-screen role as a member of TKO’s Board of Directors. Nevertheless, his position on the TKO board may suggest he holds a boss-like authority, but it’s his recent promos on social media and WWE TV that truly portray him as The Final Boss.
Recent incidents, such as his altercation where he physically hurt Cody Rhodes on Monday Night RAW, along with his use of offensive language, signal a departure from the PG era and reinforce his dominance in the storyline. It has been reported that ‘The Great One’, will be playing a significant role in the Bloodline Saga after WrestleMania 40.
Fans are speculating about potential plot twists, including Johnson betraying his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, a future showdown between them, and a highly anticipated clash with Cody Rhodes after their heated feud. Johnson is expected to bring a much-needed shift to WWE storylines, ensuring that they remain relevant and entertaining for fans.
Will Roman Reigns be betrayed by The Rock at WrestleMania 40?
The Rock joined forces with ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns after he had an altercation with Cody Rhodes at the WrestleMania 40 press conference. The new Bloodline member has attacked and degraded ‘The American Nightmare’ multiple times.
However, some fans believe these clashes are just a big part of a conspiracy against ‘The Big Dog’. One fan posted that ‘The People’s Champ’ is trying to destroy the Bloodline from within and is actually Cody’s friend behind the scenes.
In the first episode of Monday Night Raw, The Rock made it clear who he was after. He posed the question, “Should The Rock sit in a booth? Should The Rock sit at the bar? Or…should The Rock sit at the head of the table?”
The Rock did not mention the WWE Universal Championship in his statement; instead, he focused on being the “Head of the table” towards the end of his promo. This indicated his desire to take control of his family and heritage, both of which are currently under the control of Reigns.
Although some fans booed The Rock’s reference to his “royal family” during the WrestleMania Kickoff, the contribution of the Anoa’i family in wrestling history cannot be denied. With several key wrestling figures, including High Chief Peter Maivia, The Rock, and his cousins Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, and Roman Reigns, as well as The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Naomi, and Rock’s daughter Ava.
It’s unlikely that The Rock is happy about seeing his nephews Jimmy, Jey, and Solo being controlled by Roman Reigns. It is undeniable that Reigns is using The Bloodline to hold onto his championship titles. So Cody and The Rock teaming up to take Roman down is not something out of the ordinary.
