Kylian Mbappe has been rumored to exit Paris Saint-Germain for a number of seasons now. The player is one of the best players in the world and is highly desired by a number of big clubs that are ready to spend big on him. Even at the start of this season, Mbappe stirred rumors of an exit by not signing a new contract extension.
There is no doubt that this summer would be an interesting one, as we could finally see Mbappe in a new club. Real Madrid are in pole position to sign him, but their rivals Barcelona don’t want to get involved in the Mbappe transfer saga.
Why FC Barcelona doesn’t want to get in Kylian Mbappe trade?
Many would definitely wonder why FC Barcelona are not interested in signing one of the best players in the world, Kylian Mbappe. After all, almost all of the big clubs in the world, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and especially rival Real Madrid, among others, want to bring in the player.
But the truth is that the reason is not that surprising. After all, almost every soccer fan knows that Barcelona, despite being a big club, is suffering one of their worst financial crises. They are even struggling to register some of their current players for the next season.
Recently, sporting director Deco spoke about the possibility of signing Mbappe by selling other players. He said, “We’ll see what happens. It would be a mistake to sell Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo to Kylian Mbappé. That would make the team worse. We would like transfers to balance the team. What I would like is to improve the squad, not worsen it.”
While the French superstar would be arriving on a free transfer, Barcelona cannot possibly afford his huge wages and even the huge signing bonus he would ask for. The only way possible would be to sell some of their biggest stars, but that would only weaken the team as they would lose many key players for one big superstar. For now, their financial situation means it is impossible to bring in Mbappe.
Another reason is that Mbappe has already shown his preference for either Real Madrid or Liverpool. Barcelona’s bad financial situation, along with their poor performances on the pitch, would not convince him at all. It would be quite stupid for the Catalans to try to get him, and that is why they are not involving themselves in transfer talks.
Is Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid confirmed?
Kylian Mbappe has been rumored to join Real Madrid for a while, and many Spanish and French reports have already confirmed the move. But the truth is that no such transfer is confirmed yet. Even La Liga president Javier Tebas has spoken favorably of a transfer to Madrid. There is an equal chance of a move to either Real Madrid or deciding to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
Apparently, while Real are interested in signing him, Mbappe is requiring some big demands. He wants one of the best salaries in soccer history, amounting to €50 million, and a huge signing bonus of €120 million for arriving on a free. Furthermore, he wants various bonus incentives and image rights as well. Paris Saint-Germain are ready to accept these demands, while Madrid are a bit hesitant.
However, ESPN reports that Mbappe has agreed to move there, with the contract terms offered by Real Madrid being less than what PSG would offer him. The French club are also said to be preparing for life without him. All these various conflicting reports are certainly confusing many fans.
Only the summer transfer window would show us what Kylian Mbappe decides to do, with Real Madrid definitely the favorites to sign him.
