Neymar Jr. has recently encountered a series of unsettling events. The controversy surrounding his departure from PSG was followed by a move to Al Hilal, where he unfortunately suffered an ACL significant injury that will keep him sidelined for an extended period. Now, Neymar may be bracing for further challenges as Al Hilal appears to be contemplating a decisive move.
While it’s not uncommon for a player to face an injury and still retain a place in the team, the dynamics change when the player is new to the club, especially if the club has invested significantly in the player. In such cases, there could be considerations of removing the player from the team to mitigate potential financial losses.
Reasons for Al-Hilal’s potential plan to deregister Neymar Jr.
Al-Hilal is said to be in the process of removing Neymar from their squad registration for the remainder of the season. The Brazilian star, who joined the Saudi side for a £78 million transfer fee from PSG in August, inked a lucrative two-year deal amounting to £130 million per season. Unfortunately, Neymar sustained a severe knee injury last month during Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay in World Cup qualifying, prompting this decision.
Following further examinations, it was disclosed that Neymar had suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee. This unfortunate injury implies that the Brazilian star is anticipated to be sidelined for the remainder of the current season, presenting a significant challenge as he races against time to recover ahead of the Copa America in the United States next summer.
As per reports from the Saudi Arabian outlet Arriyadiyah, Al-Hilal is contemplating a temporary suspension of Neymar’s registration owing to his injury. The Saudi Pro League (SPL) regulations dictate that each team can only register eight non-Saudi players in their squad.
The report suggests that Al-Hilal’s manager, Jorge Jesus, is eager to strengthen his team in January, particularly eyeing the addition of a foreign left back. Following discussions between Jesus and the club’s leadership, it has been decided that Neymar will be excluded from the squad until he recovers from his injury, given that Al-Hilal has already reached the maximum limit of eight foreign players.
Neymar Jr.’s newborn baby avoids kidnapping attempt
An attempt was made by unidentified individuals to abduct the newborn child of Neymar Jr. in Sao Paulo subsequent to an intrusion at the residence of his partner, Bruna Biancardi. The armed intruders forcibly held the supermodel’s parents and afterwards robbed them. Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries.
R7, a local news outlet (via GOAL), provided insights into the incident, revealing that the armed group specifically targeted Biancardi and their newborn daughter, Mavie. Fortunately, neither of them, nor Neymar, who is currently with Al-Hilal, were present during the occurrence.
In response to the gravity of the situation, authorities have intensified their investigative efforts. Video footage obtained from the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) allegedly depicts the audacious actions of three men arriving by vehicle. Notably, one of the suspects, now in custody, was revealed to be a resident within the same gated community, exploiting this proximity to carry out their plan.
In all, Neymar Jr.’s family are immensely glad that no harm came to those who were present at the scene of the arrest. They are further happy that the kidnap attempt was ultimately unsuccessful.
