Sabrina Ionescu recently went viral with her 3-point shooting mastery, which led to the first-of-its kind men vs women 3-point shooting contest featuring her against Stephen Curry. After making strides in her WNBA career, the 26-year-old has cemented her place as one of the top faces in the women’s game.
Her on-court talent has resonated on the same wavelengths as her commercial prowess, landing deals with global brands like Nike. But now the WNBA star will start a new chapter in her off-court life as the Liberty guard is finally settled with the love of her life, NFL star Hroniss Grasu.
Sabrina Ionescu marries Raiders Lineman Hroniss Grasu
After breaking barriers on-court and adding various accolades to her name, Sabrina Ionescu settled down with her long-term boyfriend NFL center, Hroniss Grasu.
In 2021, the NY Liber point guard wished Hroniss Grasu on Instagram for his birthday, publicly revealing that the two were dating. Last year, in January, they got engaged after the Raiders Center surprised the WNBA star with a beautifully decorated rooftop proposal. To which Sabrina said, “I was completely shocked and caught off guard because he played it off so well. I couldn’t stop taking pictures with my ring. This night was just so special”.
Finally, the couple tied the knot in Laguna Beach, California. Sabrina looked ethereal in her off-shoulder, thigh-slit white gown, enjoying her special moment with her close circle.
Hroniss Grasu started his NFL career in 2015 with the Bears and after short stints with the Ravens, Dolphins, Titans and 49ers, the 32-year-old is finally finding his feet with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Vanessa Bryant attends Sabrina Ionescu’s marriage ceremony with daughter
There were many known faces who attended Sabrina and Grasu’s wedding ceremony, like former NBA player Pau Gasol, WNBA player Satou Sabally, and the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant and daughter Natalia Bryant.
While Venessa dazzled in a golden Renata Gown, Natalia chose to wear a shimmery green, Maria Lucia gown. She shared pictures on her Instagram with her daughter, who looked way taller, probably because of her father’s genes, and the bride, Sabrina, wishing the newlyweds eternal happiness.
Satou Sabally also shared some moments of the wedding ceremony on her Instagram, captioning, “To an everlasting bond of love (heart emoji) what an amazing wedding of two very special people, a weekend full of smiles and happy tears”.
After a disappointing loss against Las Vegas in the finals, Sabrina will be seen leading Liberty to the next campaign, which starts in May.
