Venus Williams’ disappointing loss at Wimbledon 2023

Queen V has won the Wimbledon Championship 5 times, and this year, she came looking to “just want to hit the hell out of the ball.” She was ready to dominate even though she had just suffered an injury.

In the first round, Venus Williams faced off against the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. While she had a great start and seemed to quickly have taken the upper hand, the star was seen to drop and fall, shrieking in pain. After this fall, Queen V had lost her momentum and went on to lose to the Ukrainian in straight sets (4-6, 3-6 ).

This was definitely a very disappointing loss for the champ. Reflecting on the defeat, she said: “I started the match perfectly. I was literally killing it and then got killed by grass”.
