WrestleMania 40 Kickoff: what exactly did the Rock say to Triple H?

The anticipation is growing as WrestleMania 40 prepares to take over Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. Despite the main event being two months away, the drama has already started and shows no signs of letting up. WWE’s press event in Las Vegas intended to kick off WrestleMania 40 on a high note but concluded in chaos.

In the much-anticipated explosive show, The Rock and Cody Rhodes clashed, leading emotions to escalate to a point where The Rock engaged in an X-rated altercation with Triple H backstage after WWE’s dramatic press conference.

What did the Rock say to Triple H backstage?

An altercation broke out during the WrestleMania press conference among Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and The Rock. Rhodes’ shocking announcement that he will battle Reigns at WrestleMania 40 rather than The Great One stunned everyone. As they debated on stage, Rhodes would not budge, and tensions were running high.

Rhodes dared Reigns and Rock to face the consequences of their actions, implying that their forefathers would be dissatisfied. After The Rock approached Rhodes, an angry confrontation ensued, culminating in a smack. Triple H intervened in backstage to diffuse the situation, but the family cousins departed by banding together in opposition to the criticism.

Rock threatened to take things into their own hands until Triple H handled the situation. Astonished by the sudden change of circumstances, his raging X-rated comments shocked Triple H and the backstage interviewer.

The Great One said, “Have them talk sh*t about our family again that’s what happens….you don’t fix it we will. Have them talk sh*t about our family again…I’ll slap the f*cking teeth out of his mouth.”

Did The Rock face Triple H at any of the previous WrestleMania events?

The last on-screen confrontation between Triple H and The Rock occurred at WrestleMania 31 a little over nine years ago. Its excellence shocked everyone, even though it lacked the flawless buildup and A-list talent of previous Manias. Surprisingly, WrestleMania 31, which took place in Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium on March 29, 2015, is now considered one of the greatest shows of all time.

Many consider it, along with WrestleMania 2014, to be one of the best events of the last decade. Stephanie McMahon was there when The Rock and Triple H squared off at WrestleMania 31. Unlike past meetings, Triple H and The Rock did not get into a straight fight before WrestleMania that year.

The Brahma Bull’s arrival disrupted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s jubilation as they boasted about The Authority’s dominance during the 2015 Mania event. After The Great One and Triple H shared a moment alone, Stephanie intervened, slapping and verbally abusing The Rock. Consequently, The Rock’s entrance with UFC star Ronda Rousey set the stage for an iconic moment at WrestleMania.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
