WWE CCO Triple H receives hilarious response from NBA star Joel Embiid following WrestleMania 40 invitation

With fans all over the world, it’s to be expected that some of them would try to enact some WWE moves or gestures that have been made famous by the superstars throughout all these years. A similar incident occurred recently when an NBA player did Triple H’s infamous DX gesture and surprisingly got invited to WrestleMania 40.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels are two of the most popular WWE superstars. People who grew up watching them in their days in D-Generation X have often tried to act out the infamous “Su*k it” gesture, which was made famous by The Game and HBK themselves.

Triple H invites Joel Embiid to WrestleMania 40

It was recently reported that NBA player Joel Embiid would be fined a sum of $35,000 for his continuous exhibition of DX’s obscene gesture. The incident took place in a recent game during the third quarter, when Embiid scored a two-pointer and followed it up with Triple H’s infamous crotch chop celebration gesture, which led him to get fined.

Little did we know, this incident would lead Joel Embiid to get invited to attend WrestleMania 40, which is taking place next year. WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H took to X(formerly Twitter) to invite the NBA star to the April Extravaganza.

“Hey @JoelEmbiid – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. @WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly…”, wrote Triple H in his post on X.

Surprisingly, Embiid politely declined the invitation, saying that although he would love to attend the event, he would not be present in Philadelphia next year at the time. It should be noted that Philadelphia is actually Embiid’s home turf.

“Yes sir!! I would love to but I don’t think I’m gonna be in Philly for that…”, said Joel Embiid in his reply.

The reason behind Embiid’s absence during the time of WrestleMania 40 can be attributed to the fact that the Sixers’ have road games scheduled in Miami, Memphis and San Antonio from April 4 to 7, which coincides with WrestleMania 40 taking place on April 6 and 7.

Although no matches have been announced for the show, it’s expected to be even bigger than this year’s Mania, which is already regarded as the most watched and most successful WrestleMania of all time. Furthermore, Brock Lesnar is rumored to be having his last match at The Show of Shows next year, in his hometown of Philadelphia. Although WWE has no clear opponent in mind for The Beast as of now, recent reports have suggested that he might be facing the longest-reigning current Intercontinental Champion, Gunther. The Ring General is one of the best wrestlers of the current generation and is a suitable final opponent for Lesnar.

WrestleMania XL will also be the second WrestleMania to be held in the city of Philadelphia. WWE has also begun heavily promotion the event, with tickets and priority passes being on sale currently. Make sure to grab your tickets and catch The Show of Shows live next year in Philadelphia!
