Since the first Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff in 2022 was a big hit, WWE is set to return to the UK again. This time, they will stream live from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. As soon as WWE revealed a poster showcasing some of their major Stamford-based promotion’s performers, the anticipation reached its pinnacle.
Seeing Drew McIntyre front and center on the poster was what grabbed everyone’s attention. Speculation is heating up among fans regarding the results of WrestleMania and the future of the heavyweight championship title.
WWE Clash At The Castle poster potentially spoils WrestleMania 40 result
The wrestling powerhouse has planned for its Clash at the Castle event in Glasgow, Scotland on June 15, nearly two years after a historic night in Cardiff, Wales. Alongside this, WWE is hosting SmackDown at the same venue on Friday, June 14, creating a weekend packed with events. However, the announcement of the PLE kicked off with an exciting tease about the WrestleMania 40 outcome, which is still four days to go.
Adding to the action-packed weekend, WWE will also hold SmackDown at the same site on Friday, June 14. The official poster was just shown on the company’s website, featuring a number of famous superstars, but interestingly, none of them are the current champs.
Five superstars are prominently featured on the poster, with Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre from the men’s division serving as the focal points. Both are top talents in the promotion, but, strangely, they aren’t champions right now. Many fans wonder whether this suggests that the titles will change hands at WrestleMania 40, especially if Drew McIntyre becomes the heavyweight champion.
On top of that, the Scottish Warrior has been quite vocal about his disdain for Seth Rollins’ tenure as heavyweight champion on social media, which could mean he plans to dethrone Rollins at WrestleMania.
Drew McIntyre fires shot at CM Punk, Seth Rollins ahead of WM 40
With WrestleMania just around the corner, WWE has unveiled special emojis featuring various wrestling stars, including Drew McIntyre, who is set to feature in one of the event’s main matches. Meanwhile, CM Punk, who will not be competing at WrestleMania and so does not have an emoji, became the target of McIntyre’s humorous jab.
A ripped triceps prevented Punk from wrestling Rollins for the title; instead, he will serve as a commentator in the Wrestlemania. There was talk last year that Punk and Rollins may face off for the title, but it never materialized.
In his absence, the Scottish Warrior was given the title shot, and he took to Twitter to taunt Punk again ahead of WrestleMania. While making fun of Punk, he said that Punk will likely have a clown emoji for the main event.
