John Cena, aka The Cenation Leader, and Roman Reigns, aka The Tribal Chief, aren’t exactly strangers. The duo have feuded on two occasions in the past, with Reigns coming out victorious both times.
The two superstars got personal with each other in the ring several times during promos. But things escalated when both superstars took the fight on Twitter or X and fans were also getting involved in their conversations. During 2017 it was peculiar that the WWE superstars took a dig at each other on social media platforms.
John Cena and Roman Reigns’ hilarious exchange
In 2017 at an episode of Monday Night Raw, John Cena and Roman Reigns did a contract signing, which was hosted by WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle. The signing was to make their match at the upcoming No Mercy PPV (pay-per-view) event in Los Angeles, CA at the Staples Center on September 24th official.
John Cena vs. Roman Reigns wasn’t the only big match taking place at the No Mercy pay-per-view event. There was a noteworthy verbal confrontation between these two former WWE Champions. The segment featured a war of words that got personal at times. Reigns brought up that Cena buries “younger talents” while Cena called Reigns “a cheap-ass corporately created John Cena bootleg.”
After that promo, the two exchanged heated words both on television and social media. The two superstars went off on each other via Twitter. However, Cena ended up winning that as well. Cena started off silly and it didn’t go well. The exchange was as follows:

The Tweet exchange between these superstars was very hilarious and entertaining for fans at that time.

John Cena and Roman Reigns have been the iconic faces of WWE for a long time. In the year 2017, both superstars had a face-off in WWE. But the face-off was not limited to the ring it was also eminent on social media. Fans were also enjoying their trash talk and many even retweeted their tweets with their own take on the Twitter clash.

Fans from both sides were also exchanging tweets taking sides with their favorite WWE superstar. However, The Tribal chief shut the mouth of every hater as he defeated Cena at their No Mercy faceoff in 2017.
