WWE parts ways with long-time host Matt Camp

WWE has bid farewell to some familiar faces who have recently worked on SmackDown, including Kevin Patrick, and McKenzie Mitchell, who was previously on NXT. Additionally, there has been a change in personnel on WWE’s The Bump, with the departure of longtime host Matt Camp.

Matt Camp, who hosted WWE’s The Bump and held various roles within the organization for an extended period, was reportedly let go last week. While these developments haven’t garnered much criticism, it’s evident that WWE is making adjustments to its creative approach.

Matt Camp cut without explanation by WWE

WWE is known for making unexpected decisions when it comes to promoting new stars and dropping old ones. Their recent split with Matt Camp has generated a lot of buzz in the wrestling world.

Recent reports suggest that Camp, who is well-known for anchoring The Bump and other WWE programs, was terminated from his position exactly one week ago. WWE hasn’t made any public announcements about it, so his departure has caught everyone by surprise.

Beyond his work on The Bump, Camp was a regular on Raw Talk, the SmackDown Lowdown, and the Premium Live Event kickoff broadcasts, among others. He was a dependable and well-informed team member, so his departure surprised everyone onstage.

Fans are expressing their dismay and wishing Camp well on social media despite WWE’s lack of explanation. The audience has yet to hear from Camp about his departure, but fans are curious as to why WWE decided to part ways with a fan favorite from The Bump.

PWInsider noted, “The reaction to Camp’s release has been something of a shock among a number of people in the company we spoke with over the last several days as PWInsider.com worked to confirm the story. There’s been no real explanation as to why he was cut and the company hasn’t made any statements internally.”

History with WWE: Camp’s contributions to The Bump and other programs

Camp had an impressive resume before his time with WWE, having worked as a contributor to SiriusXM’s Busted Open and as the main commentator for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore. Additionally, he contributed his knowledge to Bleacher Report’s fantasy football analysis.

Fans are wondering who will replace him after WWE’s surprising decision to let him go, despite his stellar career. Before his abrupt resignation last week, Camp had been a mainstay on The Bump since its inception in September 2019.

Camp was a regular on as many as four WWE shows each week, including Raw Talk, Smackdown Lowdown, and The Bump. Kickoff shows for premium live events, like WWE NXT Vengeance Day, featured him as well. He has shown his flexibility inside the industry by contributing to several WWE Network programs.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
