WWE SmackDown: LA Knight confronts Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens split teams with Sami Zayn

WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown this week was a packed episode, featuring the long-awaited return of Roman Reigns, Triple H appointing new general managers for both the red and blue brands, and John Cena confronting The Bloodline. The September 13th edition of SmackDown was one of the most anticipated episodes of the blue brand in weeks.

Fans also received a potential opponent for Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel this year and witnessed Kevin Owens getting drafted to SmackDown in exchange for Jey Uso, who switched over to Monday nights.

LA Knight confronts Roman Reigns after John Cena’s acknowledgement

Last night’s SmackDown was opened by John Cena, who addressed the fans in audience. However, his promo was interrupted when Roman Reigns’ music hit, as The Tribal Chief made his way to the ring accompanied by Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Reigns first demanded the Tulsa crowd to acknowledge him, and then turned his attention to Cena.

Roman Reigns told John Cena to leave the ring, unless he wants The Bloodline to remove him. The Cenation Leader clarifies that he is not there to fight The Tribal Chief, but was there to acknowledge his 1000-day run as the Universal Champion. He further says that he has not earned a title shot yet, but he knows someone who has. Out comes LA Knight, who made his way to the ring. Knight asked if Reigns has ‘started pissing his pants yet’, and declared himself as the fastest rising star in WWE history.

However, Jimmy Uso blindsided LA Knight all of a sudden. After a tussle, Knight threw Uso out of the ring, and then stared down the Undisputed WWE Champion. Wanting to avoid a fight, Reigns rolled out of the ring along with Sikoa and Heyman.

Kevin Owens traded to WWE SmackDown splitting teams with Sami Zayn

It looks like Sami Zayn’s time as Kevin Owen’s tag team partner has come to an abrupt end. As fans know, Jey Uso was brought over to RAW by Cody Rhodes, after the former Bloodline member quit SmackDown. It looks like in order to fill Jey’s void on Friday nights, Owens has been selected as his replacement.

On Friday Night SmackDown this week, WWE CCO Triple H appointed two new General Managers for both the red and blue brands. He announced that Adam Pearce would be the GM at RAW and introduced Nick Aldis as the new GM of SmackDown. Their segment was soon interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, who came to complain about Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. However, Kevin Owens suddenly made his appearance on the blue brand and delivered a stunner to the Judgement Day member. It was then revealed that Owens would be the newest addition to the blue brand.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens reunited before WrestleMania 39, where they defeated The Usos to capture the Tag Team Championships. However, they lost the titles to Finn Balor and Damian Priest at Payback. Following that, it appears their time as a team has finally come to an end. It will be interesting to see if the two ever face off in a RAW vs SmackDown match at Survivor Series in the future.
