Vince McMahon has always been a crucial part of WWE and he is very popular among WWE fans for his calculative moves. The Founder of the promotion had always had big plans set up for his company and his business ventures. His ambitious repertoire has eventually paved his way to becoming a multimillionaire business magnet today.
One of Vince McMahon’s bizarre goals has been recently revealed by Hall of Famer Kurt Angle in an interview. However, looking at the present scenario it seems to be only half accomplished.
Kurt Angle reveals shocking Vince McMahon claim
Recently Kurt Angle made an appearance on the “Joe Rogan Experience” and narrated several interesting stories of his career. During the interview, Kurt shared a conversation he once had with Vince McMahon when he returned to WWE in 2017. The conversation was about how Vince wanted to live till the age of 120!
“I love the guy. He’s always treated me right. I never had a problem with Vince. I’m glad he got the money he got. I never thought he would sell the company. I thought you would have to pry it from his cold dead hands. I thought he would keep the company forever. He put his heart and soul into it. No one works harder than he does. He’s a machine.”, said Kurt Angle.
He also added, “You know what he told me when I came back to WWE? He said, ‘I’m going to have this company for a lot longer than you think, Mr. Angle. I’m 73 right now. My mom lived to be 101. I plan on living until I’m 120. I’m never letting the company go. I’m always going to work here. They’re going to have to pry it from my cold dead hands.’ That’s what keeps him going. That’s why I’m a little, not nervous, but what’s he going to do now? His life is wrestling.”
The main concern that the Hall of Famer has for Vince McMahon is that as the founder of WWE, McMahon might not have much to do from now on as he has agreed to a merger with UFC.
Vince McMahon’s history working with WWE
Vince McMahon has been the pillar of the company since WWE’s founding for several decades. He has been the CEO and Chairman of the promotion for more than 40 years now. Currently he is a board member and the Executive Chairman of WWE even after the merger with UFC.
Mr. McMahon started his career as a ringside announcer at Capitol Wrestling Corporation which was owned by his father. In 1979 the name of the promotion was changed to World Wrestling Federation aka WWF, and it continued till 2002.
The CWC was bought by Vince in 1982 and it was only after that wrestling and entertainment were merged. He worked integrally to make the scripts interesting and audience friendly. The legendary promoter knew exactly what the audience wanted to watch. He turned the promotion into a nationwide business by 1995.
In 2002, WWF was rebranded as World Wrestling Entertainment aka WWE. After that, there was no stopping for Vince McMahon as he made the promotion an international business platform and WWE became the number one promotion in the pro wrestling industry.
With the imminent merger under TKO Group Holdings, fans are still hoping that Vince McMahon will give his best to the promotion as long as he remains an integral part of WWE.
