WWE WrestleMania 40: The Slammy award makes grand return for amazing celebration

After a four-year hiatus, WWE is finally bringing back its much-loved awards show, The Slammy Awards, at this year’s grand PLE event. Like the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes, it celebrates the best wrestlers in several categories.

In this award, fans can vote for their favorite male and female superstars, tag team, rivalry, or incident that occurred. As confirmed by WWE, the Slammy Awards will be held on April 7, which coincides with the second night of WrestleMania 40.

When it comes to WrestleMania 40 weekend, WWE is always planning to go all out. The last edition of WWE Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania will air on Monday, April 1st, and that is when everything will get underway.

Before WrestleMania, WWE generally provides fans with a five-day event that includes meet-and-greets with WWE superstars, live performances, and panels throughout the week. After all, it is WrestleMania 40 and surprises don’t end here because the Slammy Awards will be returning.

On April 7th, The Slammys: The Fans’ Choice Awards will be broadcast live from WrestleMania. With a history that begins in 1986 and continues every year since 2008, this is the first Slammys since 2020. It will be streamed live on all of WWE’s social media channels. Cathy Kelley and former WWE Champion Big E will be the hosts for this year’s Slammy Awards.

Fans in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for WrestleMania 40 will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive fan experience. Right now, fans have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite candidates only! Fans may choose from 11 different categories that WWE has revealed with the names of the nominees.

After being canceled in December 2020 due to the pandemic, the Slammy Awards are returning this year for WrestleMania 40. Given that Cody Rhodes is on his way to “finish the story” and The Rock is making a glorious return, the surprising award show just serves to heighten the already exceptional PLE event. Winners will be announced at WWE World on April 7, and fans have time until March 27 to cast their online votes

Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins are among the male superstars nominated for Superstar of the Year, while Rhea Ripley, Bayley, and Bianca Belair are among the female superstars nominated.
