Ime Udoka, the former Boston Celtics boss, found himself in deep waters last year after the Boston Celtic announced his suspension following the shocking revelation of his extramarital affairs with one of the administrative staff of the franchise. The franchise saw this relationship as violating the guidelines of the organization.
After several months of their divorce, Ime Udoka’s wife is blaming the Celtics for not managing the situation well. In a surprising twist, she decided to mention the mistress’s name. However, members of the public should expect further comments and reactions following this shocking revelation in the coming days.
Nia Long called out Udoka’s alleged mistress
Nia Long used her social media platform this week to call out Kathleen Lynch, whom she alleges to be her ex-fiancé Ime Udoka’s mistress. This is the first time she mentioned her by name. The 52-year-old actress also called out the Boston Celtics, Udoka’s former team, for their involvement in the cheating scandal that occurred a year ago.
Nia reposted a video of writer Dr. Yaba Blay discussing how Black women’s suffering is frequently overlooked in an interview with Glennon Doyle on the podcast ‘We Can Do Hard Things.’ Long captioned the post ‘Where was this level of awareness a year ago @celtics ??? #kathleenlynch.’ She shared it with her 4.5 million followers.
This is actually not the first time Long has called out the NBA team because of Udoka’s cheating scandal that happened a year ago. News has it that the head coach of Boston’s Celtic had an affair outside his marriage with his staff in September 2022. He was suspended from the team for violating the team’s code of conduct, which prohibits having an extramarital affair outside of marriage.
Long and Udoka called it a quit after being together for 13 years
The popular star basketball coach ended his relationship with Udoka after being together for 13 years. This news comes two months after Ime, who serves as the head coach of the Boston Celtics, was suspended from the team for the remainder of the basketball season back in September. The suspension was due to allegations of him having a relationship with a female Celtics employee.
A representative for Nia, known for her role in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” confirmed to E! News that she and Ime are no longer a couple. Additionally, a spokesperson for the actress informed People magazine that the former pair, who have an 11-year-old son named Kez together, are no longer romantically involved but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son.
Following the confirmation of his suspension by the Boston Celtics on September 22, Ime, who started dating Nia in 2010 and got engaged to her in 2015, issued a statement to ESPN reporter Malika Andrews, taking responsibility for his actions.
“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” said the former basketball player on September 22. “I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision.” He concluded his message by stating, “Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
