“You can’t have her”: Stephen A. Smith sparks controversy over bizarre thirsty comments on his female co-hosts on ‘First Take’

Stephen A. Smith is a pretty well-known name in the American sports world. The 56-year-old sports analyst makes regular appearances on ESPN’s First Take and is often seen making the headlines because of his controversial opinions. He recently claimed that LeBron James can never be the GOAT even if he managed to match MJ by winning 2 more rings.

Smith also hosts his radio show, the Stephen A. Smith Show, and frequently discusses topics related to sports there as well. However, the internet hasn’t been too good to him as his latest controversy involves his female co-host, Kimberly A. Martin.

Watch: Stephen A. Smith’s thirsty comments on his female co-host

Stephen A. Smith was having a discussion on sports on ESPN’s First Take along with Kimberly and two other guests on the panel and it looks like Smith can’t hold himself back when it comes to the female co-hosts.

The popular analyst has been making bizarre comments on air, especially when he is with Kimberly. His latest comment came on Wednesday’s morning edition of the First Take where he paused an ongoing football debate to ward off anyone trying to get Kimberly’s number out of him.

Smit said on air, “To all the fellas out there, you can not have her. You are bums. You know, you dogs, Stop texting me about trying to get with Kimberly Martin. It ain’t happening!” The camera then moved to Martin who was shocked and a bit confused as Smith tried to ward off anyone trying to get him to play a matchmaker.

Is Stephen A. Smith going to face trouble for bizarre comments?

Stephen A. Smith can surely be annoying at times but has become a necessary part of the spectator sports industry with him being one of the lead analysts on ESPN. It is highly unlikely that Smith will face any consequences for his actions as his actions were nothing drastic and more coded and subtle. The issue here is the disparity in the views of Smith regarding the social standings of men and women.

JJ Redick, who is a good-looking guy, has also appeared many times on First Take but Smith has never spoken on behalf of him or warded off people from asking his number. However, in the case of Kimberly, this was the exact opposite which was not needed. She is a grown woman who can decide for herself who she wants to be with, and Smith doesn’t need to defend her or protect her from anyone which defines the confused look on Martin’s face.

What do you think about Stephen A. Smith’s bizarre comments? Do you think he should take a back seat from being a sports analyst now? We are eager to hear from you, so share with us below in the comments.
