Adding to his long list of peculiar moves, the Hornets player even requested a trade which goes against the Association’s principles.

Following the reports of Kai Jones being sacked from the Hornets, the star has reacted but in a nonconventional way. His response has surprised the NBA community and beyond. Kai reacted to his waive on his X (formerly Twitter) earlier by saying that it’s what he has been praying for and has achieved it.
Right after, in a recent video, Kai Jones was seen vibing outside his girlfriend’s soccer game. He was on headphones making some serious dance moves. Kai’s behavior has continued to raise questions about his mental well-being, which he previously declared to be perfect. The fact is that no one can really tell what the star might be feeling on the inside, but people will definitely hang on to the bizarre behavior he has been displaying recently.
Hornets part ways with Jones ahead of season start
Kai Jones appeared to have gotten his wish when the Charlotte Hornets announced his waiver owing to his recent series of peculiar acts. The 22-year-old who joined the Hornets in 2021 had been away from the team this summer due to “personal reasons” as cited by Coach Steve Clifford. His absence came weeks after he continued posting bizarre content on social media.
Kai Jones who had claimed to be better than the Hornets star Lamelo Ball and No.2 overall draft pick Brandon Miller, and also mentioned LeBron James, Hornets’ minority owner Michael Jordan, pulled his last straw when he requested a trade in one of his posts as well. Kai’s accumulated actions raised concerns inside the Hornets organization about his mental well-being and his possible continuity in pursuing their common goal.
A post on X by Shams Charania revealed the waiver of Kai Jones by the Charlotte Hornets after the star played 67 games over the past 2 seasons. While the waived Kai Jones may have contributed to the Hornets last season with an average of 3.4 points, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 12 minutes per contest off the bench, the team still has potential within the team for the new season. The Charlotte Hornets will be looking to kick off their season on a good note when they face the Atlanta Hawks on 25 Oct. 2023.
