The highly anticipated boxing bout between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul is shaping up to be more than what the combat sports community expected. Paul and Danis continue their animosity even at the last face-off before the fight.
Danis had earlier used Nina Agdal as a way to get to Paul. Agdal is the fiancee of Logan Paul who has had a string of high-profile relationships prior to Paul. Danis in a dirty move has used this to the effect of getting to Paul.
Dillon Danis says Logan Paul is a ‘f***ing dead man’ at final weigh-in
Ariel Helwani was the man with the mic at the final weigh-in of the highly anticipated bout. Helwani, close with both fighters, even had a bit of animosity towards Dillon Danis after Danis pulled out of the fight with KSI. However, Helwani’s relationship with the Paul brothers has been very cordial.
At the final weigh-in, Danis bashed Logan Paul, To Helwani’s question of how he views his opponent, Danis said that Paul is a coward and he even mocked the former Disney star calling his fiancee a “Wh*re”. Moreover, Paul brought in acclaimed Jiu-Jitsu grappler, Gordon Ryan. Ryan and Danis have a long-standing feud stemming from their competition in the Jiu-Jitsu circuit.
Ryan even mocked Danis at the weigh-in calling him his carwasher. Danis retributed with the words, “You’re a f**ing dead man“. Paul’s opponent referenced that Ryan betrayed his home turf by siding with Paul. Danis warned that such an action would result in death in New Jersey.
Danis who became popular through his association with Conor McGregor, is a big underdog in the bout. He recently tweeted about fighting Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 much to the wonder of the combat sports community.
Logan Paul says he is going to ‘f**k up’ Dillon Danis
Logan Paul’s trash talk resulted in boos among the audience as the fans were mostly rooting for Danis. Every Danis remark was met with applause from the audience. Paul’s word, “Dillon Danis is a coward. He is a predator. I’ll f**k him up tomorrow.” was met with boos from the audience.
Notably, Paul stood for the duration of the event with a Prime mask which he refused to remove. Adding the interest in the fight, Paul had earlier brought Chris Hansen, the acclaimed host of the show, “To Catch a Predator.” This was in reference to Paul attributing Danis’ treatment of Nina Agdal as predatory.
Furthermore, his move to bring in Gordon Ryan also resulted in boos. However, Dillon Danis mocked the move by calling Ryan Paul’s drug dealer. Furthermore, he accused both men of using PEDs. Danis had earlier showcased his grappling maneuvers at the open workouts. Paul had brought in Ryan as a defense against Danis if he ever did any Jiu-Jitsu techniques in the boxing bout.
Not many celebrity boxing had gotten the traction that the Danis vs. Paul bout has got. It has even outshined the main event of KSI vs. Tommy Fury. It remains to be seen what happens at the event. The winner will have bragging rights.
