Kylian Mbappe is the name dominating the headlines again as another summer transfer window is less than six months out. The Frenchman has been the subject of transfer speculation that has lasted for several transfer windows, and until he makes a decision about his future, this may linger on for a while.
Everyone awaits Kylian Mbappe’s decision on his future. Will he decide to stay at PSG and become the club’s main project for years to come, or will he move to Real Madrid to become the club’s first Galactico signing since Eden Hazard? Even Real Madrid legend Zidane doesn’t know which way his compatriot leans.
Zidane bluntly responds to Kylian Mbappe’s Real Madrid transfer rumors
PSG, Kylian Mbappe, and Real Madrid—that’s a love triangle nobody seems to understand, although the La Liga president has claimed Real Madrid may have a 50% chance of signing the World Cup winner. The Frenchman obviously loves Real Madrid. He grew up idolizing Cristiano Ronaldo, who at the time was a Real Madrid player, so it would be a dream come true for Mbappe to don the Real Madrid shirt and maybe follow in his idol’s footsteps and become the latest No. 7.
Sadly, despite Kylian Mbappe’s love for Real Madrid, he doesn’t seem to be ready to move to Spain yet. While it’s unclear what’s holding him down at PSG (most likely his outrageous wage package), Mbappe committed his future to the club in 2022, despite having the best shot at winning the UEFA Champions League, the only title missing in his trophy collection, at Real Madrid.
Real Madrid legend and World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane has claimed not to have any idea what the future holds for his compatriot when asked about Mbappe’s future. “There’s a lot of talk about that. A lot of stories and rumors, but the reality is that we don’t know what will happen yet. We will see what happens,” the Champions League-winning manager with Real Madrid claimed.
Kylian Mbappe’s team disputes Real Madrid’s newest offer
Recent reports suggest that Real Madrid have tabled an offer to Kylian Mbappe to sign him on a free transfer this summer. A player of Mbappe’s caliber commands a huge financial package, which means Real Madrid have to go above and beyond to land their star man this summer.
However, Kylian Mbappe’s camp has reportedly turned down the latest offer from Real Madrid, deeming it absurd, as it is less than what they offered him in the summer of 2020. Mbappe’s demands are in three categories; signing-on fee, annual salary, and image rights.
Real Madrid will likely be more reasonable in their approach the next time they make an offer to the Frenchman. Nevertheless, the Spanish giants are also taking a precaution not to disrupt an already balanced team that could go all the way into the depths of this season’s UCL while also claiming La Liga comfortably over Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and new boys Girona.
